Porter has been on the hot seat for the last four years. UP unfortunately doesn’t have the money to buy him out. Unlike Dunlap he seems like a very good person. I would love to see him have some success.

I agree with you Iron, but I believe his contract is up after this next season. I don’t see an extension coming. He’s a great guy but has had virtually no success. Even CMD has some (albeit little). And from what I’m seeing of his incoming class, there’s no improvement in sight.

There is no way he will be kept but it would be nice for him to have a bit of success.

The big man from Pitt looks like a solid player but not a game changer if his stats are correct. Good size.

I was sent this zoom interview of Erik Spoelstra hosted by Ernie Johnson. Spoelstra comes across as extremely likable. I remember watching him play for Portland 30 years ago. Two things of interest for this board: he talks about what an icon Terry Porter was in the city of Portland (which probably explains why he has held the UP job for so long), and also talks about the 1990 LMU team, with the connection being that Portland was the opponent when Hank passed away.
The part with Porter and LMU is from 10:25-16:45. But the entire interview is pretty interesting for basketball fans.

In this weeks addition of the rich get richer...
Zags just landed Florida PG transfer Andrew Nembhard . Memphis, Duke, Stanford, USC, and Georgetown were the other finalists. Was a five star recruit coming out of high school.
He will sit one year and eligible for two years of play.

I’m still bummed that the WCC lost its chance to shine last Spring. I felt like the Zags and BYU had deep runs in them. Saint Mary’s also had a chance to make a run.

Andrew Nembhard, a former Mcdonalds AA and two year starter for Florida, was granted a waiver for Gonzaga. Immediately eligible. Zags fans think Ayayi, Suggs and Kispert will start in the backcourt so that means a former Mcdonalds AA and two years starter for Florida will be coming off the bench for the zags. Rich get richer.
