Romer is doing the same thing at Pepperdine as he's done elsewhere. He recruits some great kids but he can't seem to put that talent to work on the court. The Waves make so may mistakes. There are a lot of unknowns in the conference this year. I don't see 3 tournament Sweet 16 teams like we had last year but it seems the conference should be quite competitive ... once you get past the Zags.

I watched the USF CS Cal game last night. USF has a real star at one guard spot in Bouyea. Shabazz plays the other guard spot. He’s very dynamic and makes some Sports Center worthy plays, he also misses a ton. They have a tallish Euro wing, Ryruny. He scores about 11/game. They rely a ton on 3-point shooting. Very little inside game at either end of the court. Bouyea can make his own shot and sometimes Shabazz, but I didn’t see any other penetrators. They’re really weak inside. Cal has a guy similar to Leaupepe. He gave the Dons fits. If markusson wakes up before we play the Dons, he’s capable of having a big game.
If the Dons are on with their 3-point shots, they’ll be tough. But if they’re not, they don’t have a lot else.

D-1 Council has passed the proposal in which all transfers are now eligible to play this season, per Jeff Goodman.
League play just even more tough.

Some programs with talented transfers wondered why the Council waited until mid-season to make this ruling. It should have occured before the season started or apply for next year.

Robbie Heath at Pepperdine just became eligible. Average 24.6 PPG at D2 level.

Backup for Cody Ross or more? The Waves have some players on their squad.

Romer always does. What he should after recruiting all his uber-talented players is take off from November to March and let someone coach them. The Waves would be really formidable then.

Good win for the WCC and BYI today over ranked SDSU. Almost blew a 17 point win but pulled it out.

UCSB beating the Waves 31-23 at halftime. Heath apparently isn’t helping enough yet. Long time left in the game. Zags manhandled Iowa the road. Zags playing a tough schedule, now 4-0 and has added UVA for it’s next game.
