I'd thought I'd take a look at a different type of standings and see how both our University and our fierce WCC rivals fared in the most well known University Rankings - US News & World Report - www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universitiesFor those, that didn't hear, LMU (along with SCU and Gonzaga) made a pretty massive jump from being classified as "regional" Universities to the big leagues of being "National" Universities (the top tier) a few years back. This means we go toe to toe with the strong academic institutions on the nation in the list each year (besides Portland/Saint Mary's which still aren't there). Here is how this year's rankings shook out for 2021: - #49 Pepperdine(boo)
- #55 Santa Clara
- #75 Loyola Marymount
- #79(tied) Brigham Young
- #79(tied) Gonzaga
- #94 San Diego
- #109 San Francisco
- #136 Pacific
- #3(West Regional) Portland
- #5(West Regional) Saint Mary's
Pretty great showing for our conference academically and for the Lions in particular.
We are an objectively much better academic school than even when I went there in the late aughts - 2010s. Let's hope we can make a similar showing (or better!) in the Basketball standings soon.

Yes, that is impressive! Nice to see LMU, and all of the schools, more than hold their own.
Along these lines, please share where Seattle, Grand Canyon, and Denver rank. Thank you.

- #127 Seattle
- #299-#391 Grand Canyon
Either Denver or Seattle seem like the much better fit from the academic/institutional standpoint.
