With the injuries to Worthy and Knight, yes, it seems like the season's lost, but let's take a deep breath and look at the big picture. The last few weeks have shown us that Miller can be a go-to player and can potentially pick up much of the scoring load. In addition, if Martin can get his offense going, we can have another scoring threat in addition to the spark that he provides on defense. Assuming Grubb keeps out of foul trouble, he can provide much needed low-post play, as can Craig if he gains some confidence. Counts and Monty can provide some good perimeter play, and heck, Monty has proven that he can provide clutch shooting. Then you have Maynard who's made it to the starting lineup, and Ziri coming back from his concussion, plus Deadweiler and maybe Sweezy if he isn't redshirting, and you still have a pretty formidable team.
Besides, keep this in mind... the fellas up in Spokane lost their two best players as well, and they're not doing too shabby. Just keep the faith, and we'll be able to hold our own until Matty comes back.

None of us have lost faith. Conference play starts soon and we'll have Knight back around the 3rd week of January as we'll be ready for our 2nd tour in the WCC schedule.
Go Lions!

Thanks for the optimistic post. It really couldn't seem to get any worse and this all before the holidays! Really unbelievable. But there are bright spots left, I'm still standing with the Lions.

Tough breaks. There's no joy in another's loss. I am sure LMU will remain competitive but it's a real setback for the program that will never be understood by outsiders to the WCC.
After the Gael's tough loss to LMU in the Semi's last season, I really wanted to see a match-up at full strength for both squards.

Thanks for those nice words. It really is a setback for the team (tragedy for Worthy himself) that most people won't understand fully. Conference play will be one big surprise
