Saint Mary’s Gaels
Record: W 15 - L 6 WCC: W 6 - L 0
The Gaels are odds on leaders of the WCC this season. In contrast, the Lions are 10-10 and 3-3 in the WCC. In our first game in Gersten, we lost by only 4 points and played the Gaels even in the second half. The Gaels shot only 18.8% from 3 in that game and will likely do better on their home court. They just smashed Pacific 76-28 holding the Tigers to 14 points in each half. On the other hand the Lions just played a game that likely could beat any rival in the conference. This game on national TV will be a real test of the Lions consistency (which frankly has been lacking this season) and might pave the way for winning the WCC tourney, our only path to the Big Dance. It could happen!
Gametime: Saturday, Jan 27, 7 pm in Moraga. Video: ESPNU.

Gaels are favored by 15.5 I think we’ll cover or do even better

I think Hill was actually trying to go up for a dunk to finish the half. Hope he’s OK.
If we can hold them to 30 points again in the second half I like our chances. Got to keep playing defense and rebounding and hopefully Harris will get going.

Announcers calling us experienced and talented. Surely talented, but age alone doesn't make for experienced.

Some serious home court advantage for the gaels. Lions getting no foul calls. 18 FTA to 4 FTAin free throws for st Mary’s . Wow

On ton of and-1 cheap fouls given to Saint Mary’s. Couldn’t stop Marciulionis. But if you took LMU and the 15 points you’d be rich tonight. Wish I lived close to Vegas.

38 seconds left, down 3, their ball. We foul at 30 seconds. That's just bad game management. Stan's essentially saying we have a better chance of them missing two free throws than us getting a stop. That, or we'd rather have the extra time than the points. Have some faith, coach! Or at least do the math...
That being said, great game. Don't know how or why, but we always play to the level of the opponent, even when they're far superior.

Good game. LMU played hard and showed Gaels and everyone else that they can play. This was a good confidence booster.

Saint Mary’s leads the nation with 13.1 more rebounds a game than their opponents, but we outrebounded them by five tonight, really proud of the guys.

Solid effort. We bring that grit to the league tourney and who knows. Justin Wright is a bucket. Juice isn't quite there yet but he's coming.

Gaels went to the line 20 times tonight; Lions just 4.
