One of the top high school Junior scorers in the state, Anto Balian (Pilibos/Los Angeles, 6’2” PG/SG, 30.7 ppg), attended the game - he and his family sat in my row (his Dad is Pilibos’ head coach). Great family.

I feel it’s another year of WCC tiebreaker confusion: if we win on Saturday and Pacific gets the upset against USD can we get the 5 seed or win and whatever happens with Pacific/USD we are the 6 seed? If Portland beats us it’s a 3 way tie for 6-8.

Lions can’t move any higher than their current position but could fall all to 7th if they lose to Portland and end up in a three way tie with Pepperdine and Portland. Tiebreaker is: Head-to-head record. Record against the top-seeded team not involved in the tie, going down through the standings until the tie is broken. NET rating after the final regular-season conference games on February 25. Lions lost to Santa Clara twice while both San Diego and Portland beat Santa Clara once. Lions and Pepperdine have lost to and beaten the same teams so Lions win tiebreaker based on better NET ranking.
