That sounds like a reasonable rumor.

Looks like Bill Bayno will be the coach then.

I have a feeling that if Monty wanted the LMU job, he would have accepted by now. I'm happy with Bayno as our next coach.

as am I. I never really got my hopes too high for Montgomery. By taking thisjob sure he would be giving his son an opportunity to be a head coach someday. But there was too much on the line for him. He is considered one of the top tier college basketball coaches of all time. After a not so good stint coaching in the NBA, by coming to LMU he would put his reputation on the line. Four unsuccessful years at LMU would slightly tarnish his great reputation. As for Bayno, he is a solid coach and a very good recruiter. He wasnt the best fit in Vegas and was very young when he got the job. Still he was one of the three most successful coaches in their schools history. I will take him and be happy about it.

Zagforlife, your source may be accruate. If Friday is the day for accept/decline for Monty, that sets up a next week announcement no matter who is the next head coach. Through another source in the LMU administration, I can confirm that the announcement will be made next week. I am assuming Wednesday.
