I heard that Burton is the confirmed frontrunner for USF and if offered will take the job.

I just read this too. When he was on our list, I asked Titanczar about Burton and he was less than thrilled about his abilities. I wonder what the general consensus of the Fullerton fans are of Burton. I feel bad for the USF fans, their AD is dreadful.

He is adequate and that is all you need in our conference. If he left it would leave us in bad shape without Levy too.

This article hardly says Barney is the frontrunner, nice hyperbole. Big difference between being "High up on USF's wish list" and the frontrunner.

Chatter on the USF board suggests this
DGM wants Carter Assistant Coach from Nevada The searching committee wants Burton The compromise pick is Walters, HC of Florida Atlantic from the Sun Belt

Very interesting turn of events for the Dons. There are no real red flags that point to Rex being a disaster but I wonder what in particular drew the searching committee to him. His record is just ok in the Sunbelt (albeit a losing record) but he was attracting some big name recruits to FAU this season. Florida Atlantic is in Boca Raton though a beautiful beachside town with lower admission standards and public backing so it'll yet to be seen if those recruiting skills will have as much bang in the bay. Fun fact, a rabid FAU fan, O.G. Owl, actually helped create this board. Good luck to them in finding a replacement (their last coach bounced after only 1 season )

Dons posters seem less than thrilled.

Considering how they just threw a press conference on in the gym lobby the day this was announced I am feeling better by how LMU handled things with the introduction of Bayno. I do not understand what direction USF is trying to go? Must b moon walking.
