Since Bayno is in charge I figure we should start a new thread. In the next few months there should be a lot of action for us. Bayno's touch is already out there.
Check out this quote from Paul McCoy a one time commit at Pepperdine:
"Arizona, Cal and Loyola Marymount have popped up now," McCoy said. "I might take another visit but I don't know yet."
I doubt we would ever sign him but its nice to have our name out there.
Go Lions!

That is great that Bayno has hit the ground running. Obviously McCoy would be a huge get but unlikely. Still nice to see us in the hunt. This is the quality of players LMU needs to be focused on.

When Aggers took over the program in 2005, only 4 of the 12 players on the roster remained. I have a feeling the numbers might be similar this time around. It will be interesting to see what happens when the school year ends.
Go Lions.

And for Husak to nod his head as some of the comments in agreement makes me believe that many players should be worried about their scholarships. Bottom line is that Billy Bayno is already resurrecting our program. To be so firm and committed publically about turning his program around and in such a short time frame, Bayno will have to clean house. A day that I have been waiting for LMU to be bold enough to draw a line in the sand to WIN. JUST SAY BAYNO!

Fanblade, already unsatisfied with the incoming PG? I think Vaughn and McCoy would set us up well for the future at the guard position

I don't know about McCoy, but if he is a pass first PG they would fit well together. Kwame is more of a scorer, he is not someone likely to lead the conference in assist. I would estimate around 5-6 a game.

McCoy latest comments:
"I want to come back home and then think about it all. I have one more trip and schools like Loyola Marymount, Cal, and Arizona want me to visit them. Like Cal, since they got their new coaching staff they've been calling me wanting me to go down there, and it's close to home and it's in the Pac-10. But I just have to see."
We really need at least a plan for a new arena in the works. What top level recruit is going to want to play at Gersten.

I agree with ironlions and have been sayingit for a while. We need a new "arena" style Gersten. I don't think we even need a new gym, just a complete interior re-design of Gersten. Look at the small arenas at Santa Clara and San Diego. About the same capacity as LMU but much better look and feel. Hire a consulting firm to come up with an estimate and start talking to boosters. Would go a long way with recruiting.

When you shoot free throws at the north end, you may be able to take a glimpse of the marina lights appearing through the glass upper side of the wall. ;D

Krys Faber, 6-11 260lbs (Three stars) A late bloomer from Ribet Academy which is near Pasadena believe. He came on strong recently and gained a lot of interest from some big names programs. He is being recruited by Depaul and Minnesota. I wonder if Bayno has placed a call.
Frank Ben-eze, 6-10 230 (Three stars) A once commit of Harvard who reopened his recruitment. A extremely strong banger inside. Not to mention Harvard academic potential. I heard he is getting recruited by UCLA too.
Either of these two guys would be awesome.
Go Lions

That is what we need. Our weakness.....oh, let me take that back....we need to recruit for nearly our entire roster. I cannot wait for the first game to see our roster. I am hoping we make the biggest season to season turn-around in WCC history. I will get on that research
