There are certainly players we should keep. I don't want to use names on who should stay and who should go. However, I'm pretty sure most people will agree on who we should keep. ( There are probably 3 to 4 guys at most)

WHo is the top 3?  I see OJ and Timmy. Thats two. I can understand your loyalty to deadweiler because of your name, but if i recall his shooting percentage was pretty pretty bad. All i saw from him was jacking up three's. Compared to the rest of the team, he MAY be potentially the third best player, but up against normal D1 talent, I am not so sure he holds his own well. Just my take. |

Just my take. Deadwiler stats were not great for the amount of time he spent on the floor (28.9 Min/game). 80 TURNOVERS, 76 ASSISTS (Conference Stats). TERRIBLE T/A RATIO. Shooting 89 for 257 or .346 (Conference Stats). TERRIBLE SHOOTING %. Deadwiler's + this year was his free throw shooting. I give him credit for that. He was the most improved player on the team year over year, but when you are comparing how substandard he performed last year...I'm not sure most improved player means much. The student athlete should have red-shirted last year. RT helped with that decision. But RT brought him here. Now the AZ connection is broken. AZ has not treated LMU and its basketball well in recent years. Bayno, bottomline....BLOW OUT ALL THE GUARDS. Thank you. Timmy shows some potential but never played both sides of the ball. LOGGED TONS OF MINUTES. Did not see the output. I know most are very high on him, but I think he was average. But probably the second best player we have on the roster. |

Is it even necessary to rank players at this point. Anyone in our entire team would not be able to start on a top 100 team. Some would not be walkons. Look at our record. A house cleaning would be very good. Tention left us jacked.
I have to admit. I declared on this board that there would be no way in hell that Rodney would be fired. I thought the admin was too cheap and ignorant to make any changes even though it was clear our truck was headed right off the cliff behind the chapel.
I was wrong. But it never felt so good to be wrong. Let's get to work on the 08-09 lineup.

It's obvious DEADMAN and AACOACH are in this mess together. When you go after certain players in an attempt to make your relative, son, boyfriend look better than he actually is, is not fair to the guys above him. It's called player hating and that is what is being shown time and time again on these boards. If I were Tim and OJ I would bounce, and let these 2 agree on how you guys are taking the shine away from a certain player/ s. To say Keep the top 3 and not say who they are is cowardly. You hate on a guy cause YOU feel he was out just to break records and be noticed, when all I hear this man say is I just wanted to win for Coach T. I think the loyalty was lost soon as parents of players started attacking other players when they have coaches watching them daily to know who is the better players on the team. LMU will win more than 6 games next year, but I sure would have liked to see what would have become of these guys in the next 2 years without all this hating going around. They were Freshman for world sake.

AACOACH and DEAD3MAN are terrible pubilicity agents for Deadwiler. Ironically, people on this board thought I was hating. I keep it real on both sides of the ball. If you look at it objectively, AACOACH and DEAD3MAN were hating. They want most to be blow out (especially better players) so Deadwiler get to log more minutes. That is not a team attitude. AACOACH and DEAD3MAN have a gitty attitude recently and are returning to these boards pretty hard because of some released being players. Funny thing is they "think" Deadwiler is insolated from Bayno's blow torch. It's just temporary as Bayno has yet to land his guards for next season. Some should just leave because they will be sitting the pine. Might as well buy a ticket and have more study time. Go back to AACOACH and DEAD3MAN's posts. BIAS beyond believe. AACOACH and DEAD3MAN, you claim you are some giants of basketball knowledge, but you were DEAD wrong with RT firing. Frankly you basketball knowledge is only as good as your bias. AACOACH and DEAD3MAN were trying to put glue or anything else to keep an AZ connection together. TIME FOR BAYNO TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH Rodney Tention left. I see a lot of hate and all I want is the team to have a chance under Banyo to improve and win. How do we get to AACOACH getting OJ out, thats just plain STUPID. I don't even know the kid and I think he was the best offensive threat LMU had and is number 1 of the top 3. If the coach accepted his request to be released then the coach must have felt differnt than my opinion. |

I could go on and on about how guys couldn't make open layups. The fact is we had actual Big-Men and Orlando was our leading rebounder. How are you a me guy when you go hard for rebounds. You disrespected the fact that he broke a few FRESHMEN RECORDS, like that was his goal to do when it wasn't. The guy is really respectful and to verbally slug a guy in the face when the whole team wasn't that good shows a lot of b*tchassness on your part. If you think he is leaving because Bayno doesn't like what he has to offer, wrong. I have talked to 2 players and they have said he is looking great. So why leave OJ? This my opinion and just that. There is something at LMU that top level recruits are not interested in. When you play for a school that can't bring in a few top caliber players year in and out to win you get frustrated, meaning the players, fans, coaches, boosters and etc. All I can say Orlando if what I have reported is true, please stay if and only if you have the love and desire to play for LMU and its loyal fans. If you do decide, because I know for a fact this is your decision, to leave, good luck to you. After all you will still be a Lion in my heart and the record books are there to prove it. All you are going to do is get better and better. I am not mad just would have like to have seen you take us to the dance. Whatever school gets you 2 years from now as a sophomore got a real nice guy and player.  |

Are you a child because I'm an adult. I can respect your opinion but again you can't respect mine. I never said O was not good and we all have our favorite players and opinions. Lets agree to disagree. When I say the Coach must have wanted a different player to accept O's schollie that what I beleive. There's no way in hell I would let O, Tim or Deadwiler out if I were the coach, I would build around them and make them better and bring more talent in. Its not about what O's was doing in Bayno's workouts its about O not wanting to stay if what is reported is true. What I'm hearing is not good and you can talk to 2 players I don't care, shoot I talk to a lot of players and coaches around college basketball and the bottom line is the players may not like the change and they may have wanted to play for RT and now they want to move on but I as a coach would try my best to keep my Top 3. If the incoming Coach does not try to keep them then he no matter what you do in workouts and no matter what he says in workouts or to whomever he's not really trying to keep the player. Again in no way would I let me Top 3 go, I just wouldn't and now we let last years/season Number 1 go that tells a lot. |

What is Bayno going to do, Beg him to stay. Phil Jackson could have gotten the job, It seems his mind was made when the season ended. RT could still be the coach and he was leaving. Maybe he is going back to play football like the kid from USF a couple of years ago. Being released by a coach and asking to go is 2 different things.
They have yet to grant it. Maybe a franchise tag could keep him around.

I do understand you can't keep everyone but also lets recognize we do or did have some talent in what I consider our Top 3..... Then franchise him. Are we sure he asked out or is all this rumor? |
