I have to say good luck to the Vaughns, Wrights, Walker, Tim, OJ, Sutton, Sweezy, Craig, Deadwiler, Jenkins, Derik and any other player I may have left off because I don't think any one of these players will get a chance to compete for what they brought to LMU and thats just the facts the way I hear them. I'm not a beat writer so I can rely on my sources. I really think this is going to be tough for these guys and not in the area of competing but in the area of the truth and when it's told to them. Can you be more specific?

There are good players on the team that will play well under Bayno. 1. OJ will be asked to stay. He is clearly a player, and his game might be more suited for Bayno's more Calipari style, one on one breakdown type offense. 2. Deric will stay because of eligibility and he is useful as a big guy stretch the defense euro shooter. 3. Diedrichs will be asked to stay, he has shown that he can be at the least, a solid big in the wcc. 4. I see Deadwiler staying, actually. Needs to show more as slasher and defensive agitator, but his game could work for Bayno. 5. My guess is Sutton has shown enough flashes to stay. Big and some surprising skills. 6. Counts goes nowhere, he's a player any coach wants at least around. I like both the recruits and would not be surprised if they lucked the heck out. Newfan, how is Vaughn defensively? Active? Long? I'd guess the remaining kids will have to show Bayno something, but some might stick. Don't expect a complete overhaul, but certainly some changes. After all, we are not "the university of we have a nice view, but we are also a right wing joke of feces" waves.

He gets alot of steals because he is long and he reaches. Playing at the high school level, you can get away with it most of the time. He has come a long way, many people I talk to says he is a 5 star player if offense was the only thing they judge it by. If he can understand that defense is more that a few steals a game, which in talking to him he is starting to realize, he will be fine. I think he can be a good defender, but he needs to work on his lateral quickness. That was one of the things Bayno said he needs to work on after seeing game tape. Bayno will be in town to watch him workout this week.

Well, that's pretty much every really good high school player's general view of the defensive game. Good to hear that Bayno is really looking at his game and will talk to him. Sounds like he will be honest about what he is looking for, but fair in giving these kids a chance to show him. That's the right way to do it.

I agree pretty much 100% with shredaahead's assesment on the players. OJ should be a great WCC player once he is an upperclassman. Tim D should stay on because he has the hussle and could grow under Bayno's development teaching. Deadwiler should stay, he is streaky but still was one of our top players in the season. I could also see Sutton being asked to stay if Bayno feels he has the determination to improve his game. Bayno is supposed to be good at developing big men, Sutton should get a chance.
In your list my only concern is about Deric. He is not comfortable with his face away from the basket and I have a hard time understanding his game. I guess towards the end of the season he did help stretch the defense by getting a 3 ball touch but foul attracting, TOs, and defensive weakness are still there imo.
I'm in the mind that a lot of our current roster could play better under Bayno. Someone mentioned before we as a team lacked stamina, something Bayno started training the guys for in his first day. If we could have taken our 30 minute games and made them into 40 minute games we would have not been in last place.
