Kyle Fogg 6-3 180lbs playing in the Vegas tournament has an offer from us.
Good-looking wing with some quickness and bounce. Good skills, shoots it to three. Excellent competitor and understands the game. Potential high major prospect.
Sounds like a sleeper. Let's hope Coach Levy can do some magic.
He is a 3 star recruit on rivals.

I found this on Rivals about Kyle Fogg.
Prep school or college? That's the decision the 6-foot-3 guard is mulling over right now. Either way, he is in a good situation. Fogg is a smooth guard with a textbook jumper. He is good off the dribble and showed his experience at the Real Deal.
If he goes the prep school route, he should see his recruitment take on the high-majors. If he goes to college, he could be one of the top steals late in the game. Fogg has good options either way. His play in Arkansas probably opened some more doors for himself, too.
Really hope we can snag this guy.

Gets an 80 from ESPN Insider, that's pretty high.
Fogg may be the best unsigned senior in the west. This hidden gem has a lot of upside not to mention the frame, athleticism, and attitude to be a devastating defender at the next level. He has long arms, excellent lateral quickness, and has some bounce as well. His skills are still developing, particularly his handle, but he displayed a solid burst to the basket and can score effectively in the paint. His jump shot is more than solid and he has a smooth release as well. Fogg - think Ty Abbott at Arizona State - has a bright future and should end up somewhere at the high-major level by the time the spring signing period comes around.
Would be a very nice pick up for us, good catch guys.

does Bayno need to make all his recruits by May 1st? or is that just when lots of the news is going to be released?

Latest from Scout:
Kyle Fogg, 6-2 SR SG Brea (Calif.) High. Fogg has been under the radar for a lot of people, as he didn’t play on a high-profile AAU team last year. However, he’s got a ton of upside with a great body, explosive athleticism and a very good approach to the game. He’s an excellent defender, rebounds well for his size and he makes good decisions. He’s more of a scorer than shooter, but his shot is perfectly adequate given his other tools. There had been some questions about whether he’d academically, but I’ve been told that he should make it. He’s a high major prospect.
He would be a nice addtion, but I'm not to sure I would want someone with questionalbe academics in high school on the team. LMU is not Harvard, but its not that easy either.

It also leaves questions about if he can be admitted. LMU has had a higher admissions standards for athletes than some schools in the area.
For LMU to be in the mix with recruits considered "high major" is a great thing to read.

Fogg would be a great pick-up IF he was able to handle the academics. Big if since he doesn't come from a particularly challenging public school. Fogg is another wing (like Davis, although Fogg should be able to play immediately since he's not required to sit out like Davis). Not a ball handler but a slasher/scorer. Same role as Davis. We need another true PG that can take care of the ball and lead. What happened to Teel who was being groomed as a PG. I'm starting to see a logjam of wings -- David, Fogg, maybe Drew Viney. Hard to tell who returns from last years squad, but likely will also play the wing. None of these guys can handle the ball. IMHO, we still need true PG's, people that can take care of the ball, who is a pass first PG (sicne we seem to be recruiting a lot of scorers) and some bigs that can run the court. Q: Any new info on the European big? Q: Heard there were some underperforming teams in Vegas and some of the possibilities for recruits went away early when their teams got knocked out. Anyone have an FIRST HAND (repeat, FIRST HAND) knowledge of anyone else that Bayno and Levy are scouting from the Class of 2008? JC's? These are the two sources that will provide the players that are eligible this coming season. I like was Pepp did. They essentially recruited a team (PG: Jackson, 2G:Bell, SF: Suttle C: Moore, and a JC coming in for the PF). I just hope we don't load up on a bunch of wing/scorers but there is nobody to feed them the ball and nobody to rebound (or play defense). I trust in Bayno, but got to express my concerns as I see things starting to pan out.

As good ad Fogg is, I think we need to go after a true PG first. How about Dallas Rutherford is he a PG. We probably have no shot at McCoy but he would be good too. There must be some other sleepers out there. I would rather have Teel than Fogg.

Teel is being recruited as a PG. He sounds solid enough to give us relief there.
He's coming to visit on May 2nd according to the Teel thread. It'll be time for Bayno and co. to close the deal. ;D

Rutherford is not a true PG. Played the PG/2G at Campbell Hall with Jrew Holiday running the wing (rarely going to see a double since they aren't going to pull a man off Holiday!). Was a 2G with Lorne Jackson at Pump's #2 team last year. Heard he wasn't playing in the spring this year. In the SFV All Star game, had a jack-the-three contest with Renando Woolridge and they both lost since their squad played no team ball whatsoever. I think they went a collective 8 for 40. Ugh.
Rutherford doesn't have much speed, but does have range. I'd consider him more of a combo guard, but you'll get that with Teel. We need a ballhandler/passer first, with some speed, can play defense, and has some leadership skills. If Derek Fisher only had a younger brother...

Perhaps Kwame can step in as PG.

I'd rather have Counts at PG than Kwame for the mere experience factor, Counts is capable and a decent 3PT shooter
