OK now, the drama is fun but really that's all it is...all these stories about Orlando and his loyalty is just pretty much that...STORIES. Just about all of these dramatic "true stories" are not the truth...just people trying to make the boards a little more exciting. Orlando isn't a stuck up guy going around making demands. He did feel bad for the coaches that brought him to LMU but that was not the only factor in him wanting to transfer, nor was the fact that other players were being cut. He knows he's not going to be playing with them! This decision was made after much thought about what was going to be best for HIM and what would make him happy. It wasn't just about ball either, it was much more than that. He was blown away by his first visit to LMU and gave his commitment without even checking out other options to see if somewhere else might of been a better fit for him as a school all around. He was "LOYAL" to his commitment though, gave the school and the team the best he could as a freshman, but in the end, especially with the coaching switches, he just wanted to look closely at how he would finish his college years and didn't want to be unhappy. Yep, not very dramatic but something anyone (or I would think most guys) would do. I think playing for coaches that have chosen you to be in their program from day 1 is important, the players need that support since they are away from home, etc., IMO. We're happy for the excitement about the new recruits and wish LMU the very best!!! Even though the stats didn't end up that great this last season, we had a fun year being Lions fans, supporting the team, going to as many games as we could and can't wait till next season to continue following the program, no matter where Orlando chooses to go. Just wanted to say that on behalf of Orlando's fam! GOOD LUCK NEXT SEASON!!!! ;D

It doesn't matter if he is 6'7" or 6'2" I seen him play in a recent Open Gym. The guy is flat out underrated as heck. He has more muscles than the guys he was playing with combined. From what I can see he can hold his own in the PAC 10. Him and another guy named Walker both played well together and both had on LMU attire that is how I found out this site. He is about 6'5" with shoes on, no argument here, but very long arms which made it easier for him to out rebound over some of our bigs. From what I saw with my own eyes.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news for some, but if this has not already been posted, deadweiler will not be back with the team next year So what's the official word of who's in and out from last years squad? Can the deadwiler thing be confirmed? I will confirm Deadwiler did meet with Coach Banyo on May 6th and requested his release from his scholarship. I met with Deadwiler this week in Arizona and he had nothing but great things to say about his experience plus what he's learned as a person from LMU. It was a surprise as Coach Banyo had told him he was in the long term plan. My understanding Deadwiler was a class act and he said he thought it would be in the best interst of LMU basketball and himself if he moved on and not hold up Coach Banyo and LMU basketball progress going forward. He said he wanted to leave under the radar the same way he came in and their was no-ill-will in his heart. He also went on to say LMU was a great place to get an education and play basketball but he felt it was time for change. The more I talked to the kid the more I liked him seeing one of my kids go to LMU. He said he's leaving behind family, friends and most of all his love but the school should not be held hostage to his scholarship. I asked him if this had anything to do with RT and he said Quote: NO. This was his decision and what was in the best interest for himself and LMU basketball team futures. Good luck in your future Deadwiler

Our apr won't be in shambles if all of our transfers end up at other 4 year universitys if I understand right. I am still bummed to see Deadwiler go, he seemed to have some good potential but we are getting a lot of recruits at his position.

Best of luck to Shawn Dead3Man on the road ahead. He always worked hard, played through a injury for us.

Good luck to Deadwiler!
timmeaboy you are right about an all Bayno team this soon. We've only got about 3 RT recruits left in Jenkins, Sutton, and Diederichs.

Best to luck to Deadwiler. Thought something was wierd, but Dead3man had not logged in on the boards in a while.
I give Deadwiler and Dead3man major props for moving on. Deadwiler would not have received much playing time with Bayno. And considering Dead3man pubs Deadwiler like he is soon-to-be NBA material, common sense prevailed to just move on to another university to get playing time. However, he could have stayed and received a LMU education that would help him more in the long run than trying to move on and get more minutes at another university.
I would not be surprised if he ends up at USF as his mother lives in Redwood City and the connection with Coach Calvin Byrd. Not too sure he would see much playing time in USF, though as it already has 7 guards on the roster. Maybe he can pick up something in the AZ area.
P.S. Little known fact....Deadwiler CONSUMED the highest minutes per game than anyone else on the team last year... at 28.3 mins per game.

Thanks for brining the news zagsfan and confirming gdawg. I wish the best for Deadwiler and his family. He'll be a solid contributor at another program in his upperclassmen years.
