We'll definitely be on his radar. By the time Alex is eligible our team is going to be loaded with talent.

If Bayno lands Alex Stephesen, I will expand my season ticket holdings by 2! It will be an investment as LMU Basketball in 2009-2010 will be a difficult seat to get. I will put my money where my mouth is.
If Bayno seriously lands him, I declare Bill Husak a genius for bringing in Bayno! A pure genius. From goat to genius in one month. Just like us, Bill Husak will be kissing the ground Bayno walks on. ;D

Lionspride.. i love your enthusiasm with the Bayno hire. I am right there with you. That being said... -I have heard Chase Stanback is considering LMU too? Any word on that??? -Victor Rudd would be as big of a get as any, including stepheson, viney or davis. He is a player. -Alex Stepheson, please come to LMU. You would be a beast in the WCC

Not sure who much we went after Chase since we already have Viney.

I'm thinking of a school in West Los Angeles a mile from the beach that is attracting top D1 talent, has available open scholarships, a great coach with NBA experience, a committed administration, and great fans that may interest him. Very close to home... hmmm Apparently Alex was spotted at Fullerton taking a visit according to their fans. Stanback, the only things I've heard about him is cryptic online mumblings about the usual suspects LMU, SCU, PU. Nothing from a credible source. Would love to find out more

I remember he was interested in UCLA back in his high school recruiting and alot of the UCLA fans really wanted him to go there. However the Bruins are currently all full on their scholarships so I really can't see him going there unless someone like Josh Shipp decides to stay in the draft. If he is interested in LMU at all I say we have a excellent change. Heres a scout artice saying how Alex would be a good addition to the three time consecutive final four Bruins. Imagine what he would do for us. ucla.scout.com/2/755363.htmlGo Lions

Fox sports:
The rumors began in the middle of the year when North Carolina sophomore forward Alex Stepheson returned home to California and missed a couple games.
The athletic 6-foot-8 1/2 Stephenson has been granted his release by the school and will likely land somewhere near his home.
Sources indicated that Stepheson wanted to be closer to his father, who has battled health issues, and also saw the writing on the wall with the return of Tyler Hansbrough. The Tar Heels also have Deon Thompson up front and will add a pair of talented freshman big men in Ed Davis and Tyler Zeller.
Look for Stepheson to land a place such as USC, Pepperdine or maybe Loyola Marymount.
The loss shouldn't hurt Roy Williams' club much, but Stepheson did provide a physical and athletic presence on the defensive end of the floor. Both Davis and Zeller are hardly intimidating physically.

UCLA is "99%" of the way to replacing Kevin Love with another highly regarded center. That's the likelihood that J'Mison "Bobo" Morgan, a 6-foot-11 high school star from Dallas, will play for the Bruins next season, his mother, Bianca, said Tuesday. LA Times! So maybe LMU still? we will c?

UCLA lost a number of players this year and have plenty of room for Stephenson.
