Laron's HS team mate looks like we should keep an eye on.
Per Scout: Tony Freeland, SF – We only saw Freeland for a half, but it was certainly a productive one. The 6-foot-5 wing competes and plays with some intensity, that many of his peers lack. His relentless attacking was impressive, as was his baseline hammer on a helpless defender. Keep in mind that the camp setting favors towards athletes, but it’s clear the Los Angeles (Calif.) Fremont standout can play.

He sounds good. Bayno should be at that LA camp checking him out.

Three star on both Rivals and Scouts. I wonder if him and LaRon are close.

Tony's stats look good, except for the BISMAL free throw percentage. A whopping 31%. Tony will have to work on atleast doubling that percentage.

I'm no grammar nazi, but it's abysmal. Bismal isn't even close.
I would have accepted abismal, abyssmal, or absmall.

Per Rivals:
"That's what July is for," Freeland said. "I feel like Marquette, DePaul and LMU are getting close [to offering me]. We talk all the time. They are telling me what I want to hear and that is that they are going to offer me. I know I have to keep playing hard.
"I want to show the coaches on how hard I play and that I get my teammates involved one hundred percent of the time."
I would love to get TONY FREELAND!!! He is a sleeper and we should push to land him before he blows up this summer. From the few qoutes of his I have read I love his attitude. We are really lucky to have LaRon on our roster. Let's hope we get this done soon!
Go Lions!

This is a great trend for us. I love to see us competitive with a place like Marquette.

From LA TIMES:
Basketball: Colleges finding out what Fremont's Freeland is all about One of the many kids who caught my attention earlier this month during the Pangos All-American camp at USC's Galen Center was Tony Freeland, whom I considered at the time to be a bit of an undervalued West Coast recruit. He's done plenty to shed the image since.
The senior from Fremont has received interest from Kansas State and Oklahoma. It should also be mentioned that DePaul, Loyola Marymount and Marquette have been in constant contact with him over the last three-plus weeks, and each could be on the verge of offering him a scholarship.
At 6-foot-6 and 200-plus pounds, Freeland possesses the size most colleges desire in a player on the wing, and it will be interesting to see who jumps on the bandwagon next, and when -- perhaps the Pac-10 Conference schools will come calling. We'll find out soon enough.

Cool that we are still in there. Why bother with PAC10 Tony. The WCC is where it is at!
