That is awesome. Excellent first signing for Bayno. One could tell at the press conference that his personal skills and personality would work well for young kids. Great things are coming to the Bluff!

I'm assuming that he's redshirting, but even so, this is absolutely historic.

Although it clearly would not seem to please many on this board, I think Bill Bayno could be a very good choice. His recruiting basically made Calipari when he recruited Camby and others. He got the head gig at UNLV when he was like 31 and did a pretty solid job there. His downfall had to do with Odom, but I believe that had really nothing to do with him and was outside booster stuff. Killer recruiter, success as a big time college head coach, and NBA experience. I think he's at least someone to look into. Game on. I saw Davis play at christ da king, and i'm not even going to begin to try to tell you what kind of player this kid is. First 4 star? This is even underrating the kid. Owned New York. LMU is getting kids from New York who have legit NBA game. I am not being hyperbolic when I say that the year after next LMU will have the by far the best shooter in the conference. I sure as heck hope Bayno can keep it clean, but this is a whole new ballgame. Word is born to cats rooting for this garbage program for years, especially you IrionLions/BobbyShredd

If we got Viney that would be unbelievable. Rivals has him as ANOTHER 4 star recruit which would be our second in this recruiting class after not having any in our history. He was ranked 79th in the nation according to the top 150 so he would be another huge get. oregon.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=35962Lets go Bayno!

Big step for our program. Getting Viney to sign on would be nothing short of seismic for LMU. If there is one guy who could do it, I think Bayno is our man.
Welcome Larry Davis, and he will have to redshirt a year.

Welcome Larry Davis to the LMU family. I'm incredibly excited to receive his commitment. On hearing of his possible interest of LMU, I read as much info about him as there was. He is a incredible national talent to have join our program. Congrats to Coach Bayno and staff to start off recruiting with a bang. The Seton Hall board has nothing but good things to say about LD Go Lions

What a move by Bayno. If we get another transfer or commit this week, I will go nuts. Back to Back. Keep the Train Rolling!

I don't understand why this is "historic", Davis was a good player that couldn't make it at the power-conference level
USF is constantly bring in guys like that...Kellogg, Manny, etc. 4-5 star recurits out of high school. St Mary's is bringing in Ben Allen that was a 5-star-recurit out of high school and the 5th highest rated center in his class.

The excitement displayed on this board has completely changed since I first came on board. I am curious how next years roster will look with the turnover that has been rumored on these boards, but 2009-2010 will be a very good year. As far as Davis, I hope the change of scenery will pay off for him. Looks to me like the talent is there, maybe he needed the right opportunity and coach to show it. Hopefully Bayno is that man.

Glad to see him aboard. I want to make sure we are all aware, although I'm excited his numbers in 21.1 minutes last year were not great. I also would like to think the WCC is a good strong conference but I understand we don't compare to the Big East, Pac 10 etc but were close. His number were not better than our Top 3. Just because he was a 4 star recruit out of HS he has not been a 4 star recruit at Seton Hall. I hope he can bring that 4 Star attitude and game to LMU. Assit were good but thats about all.
Stats Below:
SEASON MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS 2006-2007 21.0 7.5 3.4 1.6 1.2 1.25 1.2 .3 1.8 .366 .789 .400 1.14 2007-2008 21.1 5.8 3.4 1.3 .8 1.54 1.0 .3 1.8 .318 .688 .303 .97

The WCC is a good conference but no where close to PAC 10 or Big East. I expect LD's numbers to double or triple in the WCC.
