I expect those numbers to jump. Seton Hall annually has a higher SOS, last year we were over 100 places apart. His percentages hold up even with the tougher competition. It is true that he isn't a 4 star HS recruit but from what I've read he's a talented kid and I'm happy to see him come here.

I apologize, No knock on your son. He has the ability to be a good player. He just needs to be more consistent with his jump shot and develop more of an all around game. It was more of a compliment to the ability of Davis than the inability of Deadwiler. Im just sick of people saying the big three need to stick together, yadda yadda. From all the games i viewed this year I saw two people capable of being good division one players. JOhnson and diedrichs. Like i said, becoming more consistent with the jumper and developing a more all around game, deadwiler could be included. But as of now, hes not there. Sorry.

So USD beating UCONN on a Nuetral floor doesn't mean anything. Shawn Deadweiler is now the best player on the team and because I will respect Orlando's wishes to go Pro. I don't no what has become of his game lately, but that is a bigtime jump.

This is the only place on the internet where you can see a debate on how the WCC is now shouldered up with the Pac 10 and Big East. Movin on up!

I won't debate my son's abilites in this forum but I will say you have no idea of his game. What you saw his freshmen year wasn't him, what you saw this year was a team in search for an identity so with that comes inconsistent play from all. You mention TO's in an earlier post but there was another player with just as many TO's as the one you are calling out in less time of play. You mention jacking up threes well was that what the coach wanted him to do, I guess your in the huddle, locker room, practice, etc..... You wasn't and neither was I so lets back off all that crap.
Bottom line is these players were asked/invited to come play and who knows what there abilities can be as each year comes. The one thing you don't want is to see a player take steps backwards or a team take steps backwards. I wish all of these guys sucess especially with the stress they are under and I don't think they need this negative stuff but our support. I'm sure LD is a good player although he is leaving Seton Hall for a Mid Major. I also think for everyone on that team the question is are they good enough for the new Coach and that has not been answered and I think I would be next in line to know that from the coach to the player. So until that happens lets let the expert that was hired make the assessment not boosters, alum or our so called experts of basketball talent. No offense to the boosters and alum but lets let the Coach do his job.

I think you are referring to someone else. I dont remember me mentioning anything about turnovers. I just mentioned his poor shooting percentage, which usually is not affected by a team searching for its identity. I went to all the games last year and consistently saw Tention set up his favorite play where counts would have the ball, a pick was set on Shawns man and a skip pass was made to shawn for three. And he would miss a good 3/4 of the time on a wide open three. He has skills, trust me, I have seen him practice, I saw him go up against Worthy his freshman year in practice and he held his own. Im not bashing your son, just saying to say the "big three" like we have 3 superstars, at this point that is invalid imo. This is a message board and we are all entitled to our opinion. If you as a father do not like anything negative being said about the players, I would suggest you not read the message boards if you are going to be offended.

Good post dead3man. Us fans really shouldn't be trying to decide who should stay on the team next year when alot of the individual mistakes were caused because of the level the team was at last year. We should let our new coach get to know the players that we have and see what he thinks he can bring out of each one. I hope all those he asks to stay are still committed to playing as a Lion now that our university is committed to winning. I trust Bayno will make the right decisions in who to keep next year and will be able to develop them into players they probably couldn't be with out him.

I'm glad your a 20 year old coach, I'm a 42 year old man with about 30 D1 players I've helped in one way or another into college basketball and at least 50 or so into D1 football thats not to include D2, DIII and JUCO. So I'm pretty sure I know the subject matter. Pro's are dreams of each kid that play a sport with a serious intent but we have to realize a couple key stats.
1 Percent of all HS Basketball Players make it to a D1 Program 1 Percent of D1 Basketball Players make it to the Pro's. Pretty interesting numbers huh..... Please I could go all day but its not worth it. Let the Dang Coach do his job, when he's done which will be very soon then beat the crap out of whoever you want but don't water down the process with your assessments because although you may have been at the games doesn't mean you know if a play was executed properly or not. If you don't like Deadwiler fine keep fueling the flame and you will be burnt. Since your 20 go play him, I'm sure he wouldn't mind beating the crap out of you.
Its not about what you say on the message board its you say things with very little facts and has not allowed the Coach to make his own assessment of his talent. When he does, shoot all the elbows etc. So you know Deadwiler was never a 3 point shooter.
Since you know basketball what is Deadwiler right or left handed? What do you know about the kid besides a skip pass across the court? What do you know.? I can handle the heat but I'll come with FIRE.

ask me anything, ill prove you wrong. I know a lot more than you think sir. And i have no problem with your son. He is a very nice kid and an okay player. And dont start bashing my basketball game. I was offered by many D2 schools coming out of high school where I was a 1st team all league performer. If I wasnt 6'0 160 pounds with little born athleticism I easily could be playing d1. So as much as you talk, you have never seen me play, so dont start that sh*t.

Now who's backing down not me. You should have called me or one of my people we would have got you in College. Shoot we got a kid at Colo State and think he's about the same size as you and that's in MWC and he wasn't great but he's playing. Sounds like sour grapes. If you can dish it I can dish it but I'm going to back it up with facts.
Heres a little for you Shawn is Right handed but shoots outside the lane left in inside the lane Right. So I guess what you called yourself in your previous quote is who you are because if you really assessed his talent level you would have known that. Amazing gift. All the players are great players to make it to D1 now let the Coach assess the talent and then throw all the elbow, etc... you want.
