I just wish you would save all your messages to a file and then read them 20 years from now so you can look at them with a different perspective - when you have kids. Or maybe just run them by your Dad before you post them - just to see what he thinks about them.
All the players are works in progress both on and off the court. As are all of us. Not too long ago Sherman Gay looked like a mistake after his freshman and sophomore seasons and there was talk about helping him find a nice D2 school where he could play. But he kept working hard and then caught fire and turned into a great player for us his junior and senior years - becoming the WCC Defensive player of the year his senior year. Obviously that doesn't happen to everyone, but it does sometimes.
This was a Larry Davis thread and somehow you turned it into a thread about how good you are. Your ego is involved. Just let it go. I am sure you are impressing the heck out of him and his family.
I think the majority of LMU fans support whoever wears a Lions uniform and hope they do their best, enjoy their time here and represent the University well. And we wish everyone who moves on the best as well.

I haven't posted in awhile due to flame wars like this, but I just wanted to say to runthesystem; that was the most cogent, lucid thought I've seen on these boards in over a month. Bravo.
I'm not naming names, but it seems that we got caught up in certain debates that have nowhere to go but ugly. I hope we'll remember 2 things:
1-We're all on the same side (except for zags, he's on the fence, I guess)
2-There's a reason why Bayno hasn't called us to come over and evaluate talent. We're all just hacks on message boards, killing time in stuffy cubicles.

why do parents want to read the board and keep posting comments anyway? you are looking and sounding ridiculous. you constantly talk about supporting the team and then bash the fans who I also consider part of the team. chill out and let the board be somewhere that everyone can express opinions without the obvious bias you have. is aacoach and deadman3 one in the same?  ?? sounds like it. |

I will come on from time to time and if I sound like an idot than thats your opinion. What I don't do is report what is really going on behind the scenes, thats private to the team. No AAcoach and I are not one in the same but he does live at my house a couple of weeks out of the month, especially when he's not on the road getting schollies for kids through our AAU and Community Outreach programs. Good post at the end ironlions and runthesystem. Also remember when you take shots at the team or an individual player someone might come back at you with knowledge you may not have. I love the recruit and look forward to more and if a player doesn't fit the coaches system then they will be told and move on like professionals. What I find not professional is student athelete bashing and I don't condone what everyone says but I can support and understand an opinion as long as it is an opinion. I never wanted to beleive I think it was ironlions about RT but at the end of the day he was right even though I may or may not agree with it. Thats to me being a man or a woman that can admit wrong. Now lets get back to celebrating the committment of LD and get him to sign those NLOI papers. As long as I'm a LMU family member I will support what the team does and no one has said the other so I expect to stay a LMU family member. |

You make no sense at all. How in the world is my ego involved. This is a message board, you are supposed to write your opinion. Sherman Gay i agree made huge strides from his sophomore to senior year. Incredible. I remember it. All i originally said was Larry Davis will be an upgrade over deadwiler. I dont see what the huge fuss is about. I am sorry Deadwilers father is on the board and can not respect my opinion. If you are referring to me talking about my own game, it is because Deadwilers dad started talking about my inferior basketball knowledge and skill. I am not backing down to that. I do not understand how I was wrong in any instant. We are all posting. We all like LMU basketball. We all support LMU basketball. And we all have a right to express our opinion on LMU basketball. BY saying I believe one player is better than another, is not meant to bash a kid, just simply say that I believe the team will be better off with player 1 than player 2. If i was out to bash a kid, Id bash him. But thats not my style. The rules on message boards is often to not let a parent join the message board or a player because if something negative or seemingly negative is said about them, then they will take great offense and start a huge argument like this thread... when it was supposed to be about Larry Davis Jr. I never called for Deadwiler to be off the team. I believe he can be an asset like Mack from Memphis. Coming off the bench and being a shooter. Do I think he will be a star and start over Davis, I have doubts. But that is why we have a message board. To express our opinion. If every post was about facts and numbers, this board would get boring quickly. I have no hard feelings toward any of you guys. While I am a Zags fan I have always loved and supported LMU basketball. In this we are all LMU fans. We are all excited to see Bayno come in and get players like Larry Davis. And we are all excited to see how this team is going to be transformed into a winner. All will be good. Just settle down now. Remember this is a message board and people are entitled to their opinion.

and.... when dead3man took offense to my original post, I apologized and said that I was not attempting to bash the kid, simply put that I believed Davis was the better player. HE kept the talk going. Check back and look at the records.
