Shaky start. I don't like the offensive rebounds we are giving up and they are hitting all their 3s!
Hopefully we can get the nerves out of the way and get back in this game.

Rough start at 11-2, hopefully they got the nerves out early and we will fight back! Boyle's on fire.

We just need to shut down Boyle and things will be fine.
I'm confident Good and Bayno will make the nescarry adjustments at the half.
If this was last year we would be down by 20

UWM 36-24 at half.
First half impressions:
Players were rather shaky, not unexpected considering there is virtually no experience on this level (aside from Counts) in the starting lineup.
Teel seems to be the most aggressive and quickest to adapt.
Some good things from Dubois in the second part of the half.
Perimeter defense and rebounding are the two biggest liabilities and halftime adjustments are needed in both areas.
Would like to see a little more productivity from Young in the second half.
Great to see the season get started and whether we win or lose, there is room for optimism.
It will be a season of growing pains this year, but a far cry from the hopelessness of next year.

F/Ts continue to be our problem. 2-7 28.6% at half. We can make the necessary adjustments at the half. I feel confident that Bayno and staff will do the job in the second half. If it is close (7 points or less deficit) with 5:00 minutes to play, we can pull it through.

Down 12 at half, a lot of first half turnovers. Hopefully those get cut down in the second half, Ayers(SP?) and Boyle were studs in the first half it seems like. Teel with a solid first half for us

ESPN has it spelled as Eayrs. Not sure if that is correct or not.
Teel has 3 fouls.
Teel and Hamilton both have 4 rebounds.
0 3-pointers is hurting us as are turnovers.

The lack of a three point shooter is becoming evident already in the first game.

Yes we need a three point shooter and we need to practice our free throws a little bit. IN the exhibition and this game its evident we need to improve our threes.
It sounds like Teel is trying to do too much.

Bayno, we need to have some free throwing drills. This was a problem during the exhibition.

Problem is we keep missing free throws and threes, and they come back and can a three.

Not looking good. Missed free throws and three's. Story of the game. Defense isn't sounding good either.

MEMO
To: Bill Bayno & Co. From: KXLU Radio Listening Fan
UMW has attempted 29 3-pointers already in the game and they are shooting 41% from that range. ADJUST THE DEFENSE!
P.S. V Teel needs to be applauded for his driving and getting fould, but can we have some free throw drills for this man. Only 8 for 15 from the line.

We cant expect miracles over night though. The rebuilding process has just started to take place. We will be fortunate to come out of this tournament with one win. The team is so young that we as fans need to expect some games where the boys player better than expected, and some pretty ugly outcomes as well. It can only get better.

Anytime you shoot 33 percent from the floor and 58 percent from the line you will not win ANY games. Simple as that.
