R.I.P. Pete Newell, a man who has brought so much to the game of basketball. Your legacy will surely live on for generations to come.

The article mentions he played for what is now Loyola Marymount University; very interesting tidbit. He will be sorely missed, but he will always be one of the greats of basketball.

There is a small stained glass tribute to Newell at one of entrances of Gersten. Hopefully something more is in the works now that he has passed. He is a huge part of our basketball history.
