Notice I do not mention Vinson though because it is still up in the air if he will come. Vinson or no Vinson though, this team has immense talent, and we need to recognize that. Didn't Vinson already sign his LOI??? Isn't that a binding contract? Not necessarily. If the coach who recruited him leaves (i.e. Withey for Arizona), the player can be granted a release.

So Lionspride, I hear you with the Husak stuff. I am not a huge fan myself. But LMU Mens and Women's basketball is looking as high as the heavens for the future. Let's get through this tough year and then enjoy the future success that is sure to come.Lets hope our players and coach gets healthy, and then add the core from this years team to amazingly talented players such as Viney, Davis, Garribay and possibly Vinson. Have faith Lions. Have faith. I hear you zagsfanforlife IF and ONLY IF Bayno returns (heavenly thoughts as you profess). If Bayno does not....our program may burn in satan's hot fires of hell. Pray for us Saint I. Loyola if that happens. I have not lost the faith in the team. However, when you lose your leader you inevitably lose direction as a player. Bayno holds the keys to our program. Until there is a timeline for his return...our program's development is on a complete hold. Seems like you are hearing somethings about Vinson. Does not surprise me as it would also call out Husak's last message reassuring that all recruits are firmly committed to the program. Yeah, not a big fan of Husak but who is? Zagsfanforlife, you got to love that Miss. St. parallel in communications....flies right in the face of the benefit of the doubt people on this board gave Husak about the Bayno LOA announcement.

Amen, zagsfanforlife! These players have not lost direction. They are committed to playing for Max Good. We are simply undermanned rignt now. Do we have a legitimate outside scoring threat - no? Do we have any kind of offensive inside presence - no? I challenge each person to really watch this group. See the little things they do - box-out, screen, move confidently without the ball. Not only that, notice how they all seem to understand the game of basketball. Think back to some players over the past 3-4 years and tell me if you remember seeing this occur, let alone from a group who are predominantly freshmen. Don't get me started on Young's reverse dunks!!!! The program's development is not on hold. Viney and Davis will stay. Garibay and Kalipinde are coming. Yes, Vinson could change his mind. WE ARE MOVING FORWARD! If it's still his team come January 10, Max Good will not let his boys go through the conference schedule without a fight. With the exception of SMC and GU, the rest of the conference is not setting the world on fire. Yes, USF and Portland are off to a good start, but that means nothing when the second season begins. Let's hang in there with the Lucky 7.

Titan Czar, Are you talking about the women's coach. If you hadn't checked were 8-1 So one nine game stretch makes up for the rest of her underachieving years? Also the current record of the nine teams that LMU has played is 36-47. Only two teams have a winning record, Cal Poly at 5-4 and GTown 7-2. Hardly impressive.

Ya and the lady titans are soo much more impressive at 3 and 5 with wins over powerhouses San Francisco(2-9 RPI:229), Saint Mary's (0-9 RPI: 257), and Santa Clara (1-8 RPI: 324). Our women's team has been great the past couple years under JW compared to the men's side.

Ever DAWN on you WHY he would change his mind after one month? Maybe because the person recruiting him is MIA or LOA. Doesn't that concern you? You people seem fine with this. Should we be up in arms? RESPONSIBILITY falls on BAYNO. And responsibility of Bayno falls on HUSAK. HUSAK is letting Bayno dictate our timeline. We cannot just wait and wait and wait for a decision. lmuck2318, you say "We ARE moving forward." I say we are degressing from where we were one month ago. No head coach, more losses (winless and ranked nationally in the #300s), possibility of losing the #46 recruit in the nation, no timeline for return of the head coach, injuries to our players, red-shirt announcements......WHO ON EARTH WOULD SAY WE ARE MOVING FORWARD. REGRESSION, baby, REGRESSION. Are you completely insane? Facts are facts. Reality is reality. Get some.

"Less than a month later, administrators report that Bayno is feeling better and they remain hopeful he can return."
Best news I've heard on the matter. Obviously not the shocking newspaper story that was being hinted at.

The thing about Vinson and the idea that we might lose him is that we would not miss him as much as losing a garribay or a teel. We have players already playing Vinson's position that can fill his spot. Guys like Viney, Young, Armstead, and even Davis can play some of Vinsons 3 spot. The only other point guard we have for next year besides Teel is Dubois. And we have no other true 5 besides Garribay coming in. Sure it would hurt to lose the # 46 recruit in the nation. But he is replaceable, more replaceable than losing Garribay or Teel (both of who we will not lose regardless of if Bayno returns).

I didn't see where I bragged about CSF WBB team. So please try and stay on topic instead of avoiding the topic. Speaking in baseball scout terms, JW has reached her ceiling at LMU. You know what you're going to get from her. 15-17 wins each year. A lucky season throw in there every once in awhile and she wins 20 games. But what is not talked about is the underachieving of her teams. She's had some very talented teams and lead them to 15 wins. Some of those teams should have won at least 20 games and went to the NCAA. The big decision is whether or not people are happy with those results and do you think the AD can hire somebody who can take the program to the next level.

Titanczar,
I'm hoping with our team this year we can really go farther than ever before. We have a very deep and talented team, which will only get better when Candice becomes eligible soon.

Fanblade, thanks for taking a stand on this. I look forward to posting with more regularity, and with more positivity, during lionspride's sabbatical.

Go Lions I agree that the team is talented and deep. But that has been the case for many other LMU teams and they underacheived. I think LMU WBB is about 6-7 on a scale of 1-10. While that maybe good, what COULD LMU be if they had a really good coach? I'm not here to start any flame wars. I want to see good WBB for all LA area schools. I just don't think JW is going to lead LMU to that level.
