And we are pointing this obvious fact out on a night when we capture a big win because.....

OK. So the AP is already declaring this obvious stat to its readers... why reinforce a stat that obviously makes the program look bad? If its not a positive part of our history why acknowledge it?

The AP is only doing its job and pointing out an interesting fact for readers. The AP is not the LMU Athletics Media relations department skuing the facts to one side. Nice to see some balanced reporting. I wish LMU would be balanced on the Billy Bayno LOA presser.

I am not saying that the AP should not say this. That is its job. But why reinforce it on the LMU board is my point?? Everyone knows the record does not do justice to the future of LMU basketball. We have had injuries, no head coach, and two stud transfers waiting in the wings. All this does is make a promsing future look bleak.

This.
Did anyone on this board not realize that this season has been an abject failure (so far)? If so, pass the moonrocks.
At any rate, posting this after the one glimmer of this season is like taking a dump on your newly-waxed '76 pinto. While it doesn't change that you're still driving a piece of sh*t, it'd be nice not to ruin the one thing that may bring it respect.

So LMUtex, you would trade tentions last year for this year because it has produced more wins so far to this point??? You have got to be ^&%&%&* kidding me. The four best players on this team are freshman and sophomores. How can you even start to think we would have produced more wins at this point given our unfortunate circumstances. Some of you on this board are acting like this season is for nothing and that you would rather go back to the Tention era. Give me an effin break.

alert2 has a right to post a notable fact on this board about this worst OOC start in our program's history. Bottom line....1-15 this season and 1-23 in our last 24 games. NOT IMPRESSIVE. Definitely worthy of a conversation. It is reality and it is the bottom line.
Just to echo alert2's "If anyone is interested in reliving the Rodney golden years just look at Marko Deric on the court. Nuff said".....I would even point someone to Q. Turner's abilities...That was enough for me to lower the hammer on the RT era. Nothing against QT, but QT is not D1 caliber. Unfortunately, RT&Co. thought so. Sad, but true.

Sometimes someones record does not give the full story. And as a fan of LMU hoops for 20 years now, I would take this team over any Bradley team, any Tention team , and any Aggers team. Despite the record. Because no matter what our record is this year, the talent on the team injured and active, outweighs the talent level of any Bradley, Aggers, or Tention team. If you want to challenge that statement, tell me a team with better talent. I am sure you will bring up the two pony team with Knight and Worthy. Still more talent on this years team. I would take Armstead, Hamilton, Dubois, Teel, Young, Viney, Davis, Diedrichs over the Worthy/ Knight team in a heartbeat.

I am sure you will bring up the two pony team with Knight and Worthy. I will not argue with your points, but don't slight the Knight/Worthy combo. They did not perform alone. Doh "money" Miller, Monte, and Grubb (at times) were clutch too in their absence. Marco actual was a decent role player when he was protected with Knight. Talent on this year's bench is better. No doubt. All that is for not if Bayno leaves. No destiny at Gersten....only a flash in a pan for 2-3 years.

haha you did not just mention grubb and Monte as solid contributors lionspride. Tell me I did not just read that. Monte and Doh single handly pulled off that incredible upset of your bulldogs in Gersten without Worthy (can't believe you don't remember that great night). That was the game for the ages.....not to mention Worthy single-handly winning that NMSU game with seconds left.

adoyah yes, but monte no. Adoyah was a solid player, not great. Monte was a smart player, not a good or solid player.

zags-
I agreed with your point. Maybe I should have made it more clear. While it's been ugly so far, I too am optimistic about the future. Hence my analogy about feces and pintos. Maybe salt in the wound would have been more appropriate.
Grubb was Ayer jr. in both build and productivity. But both had the same mental makeup (or lack thereof).
lionspride, your statement that two people (do/monty) single-handedly won a game is ill-constructed. That is, unless Do/Monty fused their right/left hands together, which is doubtful, because I dont remember Monty ever having a left hand to begin with.
Besides, no one player wins games. Jordan needed Paxson/Kerr to win his titles.
But I digress: I'd rather look forward and think we're undefeated in 2k9 than read a bolded statement about how our ooc set a new record for futility.
