A great win indeed for the Lions. They had played one solid half against Seattle. Now they played a very good last 30 minutes against CS Bakersfield. Maybe we can put together 40 strong minutes for the Waves. Congratulations to the players and coaching staff. This win is richly deserved!
Also, heard Max Good on the pregame show today with Lampe. He said Teel will go to the doctor Wednesday. He thinks its 50-50 whether Teel will be cleared for the Pepperdine game. I'd rather him wait another week to ensure he's healed, but it would obviously be nice to have Teel available for the Waves.
Last note on today's game: The Three Freshmen were 20 of 30 from the field...the rest of the team was 2 of 20...if we can add Teel to the mix, we will certainly win some WCC games. And that should allow us to play more up-tempo (man-to-man, fast break), which certainly seems to fit the style of our The Three Freshmen and Teel.
Great win! Go Lions!

It would be great to have him against the Waves, but he shouldn't rush back. Waves are the one team we have chance to beat with out him.

Agreed, do not rush back Vernon. The long term success is much more bright with a healthy Teel. The waves can be beat without him.

Might as well red shirt him. The injury bug can eat sh*t and die.

They would have to petition the NCAA to get a redshirt year as he is a transfer and already used up one year of eligibility.
With the way our Freshmen are now starting to play, Teel could be a huge boost to the rest of the season. So lets pray for a 2 week recovery and get him in there for the final 10-11 games of the season.
These freshmen have gotten the experience of a life time. They are now seasoned players. Just think about when Vinson, Davis, Viney, Garibay, Hamilton, Kalipende (whose scored 27 points and 8 rebounds last night) join Teel, Dubois, Kevin Young and Armistead, all coached by Max Good, Sholl, Levy, Carter and perhaps Bayno, come on board. We will be a contender in the NCAA very, very soon.
And there are more recruits that will knock your socks off lining up to join us as of this writing. The caliber of talent this coaching staff is attracting is unsurpassed by any coaching staff in recent memory (about 25 years worth)

Waterboy,
I'm hoping Teel returns soon too. Along with our freshman we could sneak up on some teams in the WCC.
Thanks for the stats on Kalipende...I had heard he was tearing it but I have searching high and low for his stats.
Go Lions

I am very excited about Kalipinde. He looks like a bonafide scorer, and from what is understood, he just recently started playing organized ball. The sky is the limit for him. I believe coach Scholl was influential in bringing him in. Great job coach.

Kalipinde has only played HS ball for two years. I read on a DC paper on line that up to 40 schools showed a interest in him.
