There are some intriguing games involving WCC teams this week:
Tuesday, December 19 Santa Clara at Kentucky: The Broncos come off a win at Maples Pavillion against Stanford. The Wildcats pasted the University of Louisville on Saturday. It wouldn't surprise me (in the least bit) if Santa Clara goes into Lexington and beat UK.
Portland at Notre Dame: Hide the women and children!
Wednesday, December 20 Pepperdine at Connecticut: This one will get ugly real quick.
Thursday, December 21 Duke vs, Gonzaga at Madison Square Garden: Enough said!

Wow, there are going to be some nasty games in the WCC. Or maybe jaw-droppingly absurd upsets?

Santa Clara down by 2 at the half, St. Mary's and St. Joseph's tied at the half, and WCC Cellar Dweller Portland is currently beating Notre Dame by 1 in the first. Hopefully at least 2 of the 3 can pull out a W.

Halftime Update: Kentucky 30, Santa Clara 28. The Broncos are hanging tough at Rupp Arena. Kentucky won by 14 points, but the final score doesn't indicate how close this game really was. The Wildcats really had to work for this victory.

San Francisco is going nowhere with Hawaii down by nearly 13 at the half.
Pepperdine lost 66-88 to U Conn. A positive for the waves, there were plenty of clips on FSN about the game. A negative was how they were clips just of U conn players manhandling pepperdine during the 2nd half.
Gonzaga will be the last chance for another win outside LMU this week.

Call my crazy ... but I think the Zags can knock out Duke. It's not in Cameron, the Zags are coming off a loss (they've only lost two in a row once or twice under Mark Few), and Duke looked extremely vulnerable against Kent State last night. Again, call me crazy, but.....

The Zags can definitely beat Duke. The Dukies' free throw advantage tends to disappear when they venture outside of Cameron.

The Duke-GU game should be one hell of a game. They seam to match up very well. Hopefully they can go into the game against us in Spokane with a nice little win streak so our win will be even sweeter.

Some friday scores---
Portland actually won a game! against Montana. Wowsers
Dons lost to Wyoming, seems like Lions-lite will be able to handle them during the WCC opener in January.
San Diego KOed the Gauchos 81-63 (>_<), looks like USD could be a dark horse.
