I what type of person Good will look for in an assistant. My choices are as follows: 1. Bill Bayno - Take some time to get better and be a part of team that you built. 2. Bo Kimble- No explanation needed. 3. Lionspride Go Lions

My vote is for # 3 of course. Although Husak would still probably get blamed if the coaching staff was not doing its job.

The program needs to cut ties with Bayno and move forward. We tried, it didn't work out. He has as much chance of being an assistant as you, I and Ironlions.
Bo has about the same shot.
Max needs a good recruiter who can bring in the type of kids he can mold and teach in his style. Not necessarily superstars but fundamentally sound players with lots of upside. Given Kalipinde is a good example of the type of kid to look for.
At what point are you going to hold Husak accountable?

If so, followers of this board would tell you I was just as critical of Husak as Lionspride was last year. I think he should have been shown the door with Tention. However, now that the administration decided to keep him on board, not too much sense in repeating your disdain for the man over and over again. Its getting old. Husak did what 90% on this board attempted to do when he hired Bayno: hire a name coach who had some credibility to his name. After Bayno was hired everyone was flying sky high, including myself. Husak seemed to have made the right decision at the time and he was being applauded for it. It is not Husak's fault that Bayno has some serious medical issues unforeseen at the time. I'm not too sure many AD's could have seen that coming. The hiring of Good makes sense. The contract as many of you have stated seems a bit lengthy. The man is 66, has expressed his dissatisfaction of coaching, and has yet to prove he can recruit nationally with the big time programs. I think an up and coming coach would make sense after about 2 years of Coach Good. Husak hired Good obviously to keep his team in tact. With the talent the program has right now, even without Vinson, LMU can compete for the upper echelon WCC spots. It is yet to be seen whether or not Good can recruit in order to sustain success for LMU. Do not forget Coach Levy or Coach Scholl's skill as coaches though. Levy was regarded as one of the better recruiters on the west coast before he got the LMU job. And Coach Scholl himself has already recruited Kalipinde, and was close to securing Vinson even when Bayno jumped.

Was just referring to the last sentence in your post. You make some excellent points as well. I am not one that is going to beat to death the Husak thing, said my peace about it.
I do want to focus on the positive, but I still think that we need to make one more change to insure we can at least move upward.
It is simply not in anyone's best interest to keep Bayno along as an assistant. Can't tell if the original poster was being tongue-in-cheek but hope so.

agree it is time to move on from Bayno. Even though he built the foundation of LMU's future success, I am not the biggest Bayno fan anymore. Just wait till he signs on with another team as an assistant or even head coach.....that will be discouraging.

Bayno and Husak have turned LMU into a madhouse. This is such a shame. One moment dreaming of dancing and now back to hoping for the every other .500. What a way to chill all the momentum the administration seemed to be drumming up for our athletics programs.
