Angelo Chol | Power Forward Hometown: San Diego, CA Herbert Hoover H.S. (CA) Ht: 6'7" Wt: 200
Per ESPN.
Evaluation: January, 2009: After his performance against Kevin Johnson (Johnnie Cochran Classic), Chol may be the No. 1 prospect in the loaded 2011 class in California. This lefty is extremely long and just oozes potential at both ends of the floor. He is very quick off his feet and has excellent timing in the paint area. His body has filled out some since the summer and he was able to hold position in the paint area fairly easy. He has a very smooth jump hook and he gets great lift on it-making it nearly impossible to block. In addition, he has the ability to knock in the 15-foot shot at the elbow. Although he is very effective on his strong side where he can turn over his right shoulder to score, he is quite raw when posting on the opposite side. He needs to learn how to face-up and pivot and put himself in a triple-threat position to continue his evolution as a post player. Overall, Chol is an outstanding prospect and with continued development he should one of the most highly recruited players in the near future.
Its never too early to look ahead in the recruiting game. The reason I mention Angelo is because his a recent immigrant to the US, originally from Sudan. I'm hoping that Coach Scholl has some sort of connection to Angelo. This will be important because he will be a top target for many elite programs.

And what makes us believe that the # 1 recruit in California would be interested in LMU? I think LMU would need to have a sweet 16 type of year at the very least next year to persuade a guy like Chol. Or he would have to have a very strong connection with Mr. SchollHas he mentioned anywhere that he is interested in LMU?

LMU didn't make the cut.

Maybe you guys didn't read this part of my post. If he doesn't know Scholl then there is no way he will ever consider LMU.

As I understand matters, we will need a replacement for Vinson. Perhaps Scholl had a connection.
