Great video Fanblade!
I watched AO several time over the summer and he is a great pick up for us. His body is D1 ready. He will get a lot of boards and do dirty work under the hoop. I was please to see he can extend this offensive game due to his solid jumper. He will need to work on his foot work and lateral speed.
Very nice job our staff getting Alex.

Thanks for the video. It's quite entertaining to watch that, and think back to our frontline this season. Replacing marco deric with osborne is a huge upgrade for our interior defense and offense.
A few obviously disclaimers should be noted, its a highlight video, most people look good in them. He also doesn't seem to be playing against a consistently well sized or equally talented opponent. That being said, he has a few intangibles that should make him not only someone who can develop into an perfect PF for our lineup, but looks ready to contribute this season.
He seems to be a natural shotblocker, although hopefully he isn't swatting at everything and picking up dumb fouls. He also has great instincts inside, he doesn't seem at all panicked in traffic or with contact, and should be a great rebounder (although actually seeing this in a pickup game would be more helpful in determining how good of a rebounder he will be).
He has good size, long arms and he seems very confident with the ball inside, His faceup game looks solid, hopefully he can develop some more low post moves to balance things out. No matter what he seems to have a great feel around the basket, and protects the ball well. He doesn't look like he'll be kwame brown down in the paint, fumbling passes and whiffing layups.
This will really help develop our offense, as far as allowing more ball movement, and beating zone defenses. We really struggled getting the ball inside without Vernon Teel last season, and pretty much always have in the last 6 years unless Matt knight or Worthy had the ball, this pickup might end up looking like one of the most important, as it fills a huge gap in our lineup.
Alex and kevin young playing on the floor together will also allow us to run a pretty fast paced offense, and also help us take advantage of turnovers and convert in transition. Dubois, Teel, kalipinde, young, osborne sounds like a nice team to get pushing the ball.
Don't wanna overstate things, but we've lacked a legitimate big man for years, and considering the other talent we have coming in we should be able to turn things around finally. Most importantly, in this whole bigman talk can continue even further with Ed garibay. This is a good sign for lmu basketball.

Really excellent rundown uncurselmu. Regarding the AO reel, we have to also remember the league his HS was in wasn't very strong. Uncurse, hope you get to make it out to some fall pick up games to see the other recruits. I think you will also like Edgar a lot he. He has potential to be a excellent player. His offensive is still a bit raw, but he does have nice outside jumper and good post moves he can really develop. On the defensive side he needs to work on keeping a consistent intensity. In the games I watched him he was a beast at times, but also tended to drift away a bit at others. I'm sure Coach Good will have some choice words of encouragement when he sees the latter.
AHHH I WANT THE SEASON TO START ALREADY!!!

He looks to have even more potential, but as you said he needs to develop a little bit more, to the point where he can adjust to the level of competition both physically and mentally. Then we'll be golden.

Great posting fanblade! 8-)Many thanks. Do you have another for Edgar Garibay, Quincy Lawson or Given Kalipinde (I’ll settle for a soccer tape on Kalipinde if no basketball is available)? Uncurselmu – great comments and hard to believe you are a “Redshirt!” Keep up the good work. ;D Re Osborne’s skills, I see a few more virtues: 1. Ability to finish in traffic, his D1 body (as noted frequently by ironlions) allows him to finish “soft” even with defenders hanging on him; 2. Defense away from the basket, steals a la Kevin Young, coupled with the ability to move down the floor and finish. 3. Passing skills both under the basket and upcourt after a rebound a la Kevin Love. Nice court awareness here. This kid could be the sleeper of the 2009 recruiting season – will he finish all four years at LMU without being drafted by the NBA? (Whoa, perhaps I am getting ahead of myself here.)
