Looks like Bol got his VISA and will join the powerful Zags team this year along with several other dynamite recruits. They are asking themselves who will redshirt this year for Gonzaga. This team may be among the best for the Zags in some time - scary!

Kong made it with literally hours before the dead line of losing edibility. The Zags have very good class but they will have seven freshman on their team. They have also lost 4 of their top 5 scorers. They will be good, but for at least this year not close to their level of the past few years.
Its interesting how their recruiting philosophy is going international. I have noticed in the last two years that a large number of American prospects they have gone after have turned them down to go elsewhere. ( Including several to other WCC schools)

Zags will be good and will make the dance again. But they will experience the growing pains any team with that many freshman would experience. But in two or three years... watch out.

Where many high-majors following the Zags international recruits? It seems GU is really trying to gamble by loading up on so many foreign players.

In case folks are not familiar with Bol - here is a video. Please note this video was made in 2006 - 3 years ago.

Most of their recruit are foreign players. Elias Harris from Germany is also supposed to be a comlete stud. Kelly Olnyk is a 6'10 canadian who plays the two and three. Mangisto Arop, also from Canada is a 6'5 athletic sg who can do pretty much everything. Most of them played on their u-19 national teams. So they are all pretty talented. Also, Sam Dower top 150 recruit out of Minnesota is coming in plus CG Vilarino a lightning quick pg who originally commited to Kentuky. Also, Grant Gibbs and Andy Poling (both top 100 prospects), who were suposed to be freshman last year redshirted, and are readyto go this year. So as always the Zags dont rebuiild, they just reload.

A lot of their foreign players were nabbed by the Zags before any high major recruits got involved. They are all very skilled players, and will be scary in a few years. The other scary thing is that the Zags have a direct pipeline to all the top players in Canada now.

Zags I guess my only consolation is that some of these guys will leave early for the Pros. I'll have to check out Gibbs and Poling, they were below my radar until now.

Actually, Kong, Arop, and Harris played for their country's national team not their u-19 team sorry.

I'm sure the Zags are hoping the Canadians turn out better than PMac and Theo Davis. Jury is still out on Sacre .

haha good point. PMAC and Theo never really quite panned out. Sacre should be good if he stays healthy.
All signs point to these guys being better then the aforementioned dissapointments though

Arop and Olnyk also played for Canada's U-19 FIBA team last summer in New Zealand and acquitted themselves very well.

Thanks Wrschnicke... you're much better at pulling up info then i am. Is the season here yet??? Gosh.
P.s. i am tired of preseason prognosticators picking LMU last in league. They clearly did not do any research and are looking only at last years record.

No offense to Bol or Zags but this guy is playing against guys who don't look very big or athletic. How many other guys in the video are getting D1 rides? Bol looks like he has some good skills (can handle with his left) but I wonder how he would fare against better High School competition like Westchester HS (Jared DuBois). One of the reasons why Jared fared so well his Frosh season @ LMU was because he played at one of the top HS programs in the state against top California competition. Not against converted Hockey players...
