Looks like the athletic department has launched the season ticket marketing campaign for the upcoming season. www.lmulions.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/100709aaa.htmlCool to see there will be "throwback" games and promotions to coincide with the 20th anniversary of our Elite 8 trip. Maybe this group of lions can work some magic as well. ;D

I sent in my money for season tickets a few weeks ago! I can't wait for the season to start. I'm looking forward to this season more any other 13 season I have been a fan. ;D

Ditto - does anyone know if there will be an intrasquad scrimmage before the first exhibition game? As I recall, last year it was on a Sunday afternoon before the game with Hope.

I'm not sure about the men, but the women will have a barbecue and scrimmage on October 31st.

I thought there was a scrimmage during the midnight madness festivities. I think the day after.

According to Team LMU schedule, Midnight Madness is Friday Oct. 23. That's one week after most teams will have their midnight madness. It also seems that the Crimson-Navy men's crimmage will take place on Sat. Oct. 24 at 4pm.

Thanks - need to get the scrimmage on my calendar. By the way, is Midnight Madness really at midnight or earlier in the evening? I have never gone to one.

I do not know why my memory is so bad but I am pretty sure it starts at 10pm and goes to 12am (at which time the basketball players do a dunk contest/shoot-around).
The preceding "event" is all the sport teams facing off in a dancing competition with cross-dressing, nudity, and general drunken goofiness that you'd expect from undergrads. Not really a MUST see for everyone but could be an interesting diversion and it is definitely popular with students.

We actually got a mention in today's LA Times - not much of one but a note anyway. Truly, the season cannot be far off! ;D Newcomers Transfers and foreign players will make up a big part of the Southern California scene this winter. UC Santa Barbara gets Jon Pastorek from San Diego State and former Loyola Marymount player Orlando Johnson. :oLoyola Marymount, in turn, adds Larry Davis from Seton Hall and Drew Viney from Oregon. A pair of Slovakians, Pavol Losonsky and Peter Simek, will play for UC Irvine, and Chris Gabriel comes to the University of San Diego via New Mexico State and Cape Town, South Africa. Long Beach State has Lin Chang, a 6-9 forward from Beijing. www.latimes.com/sports/college/basketball/la-sp-college-basketball15-2009oct15,0,1806299.story
