Stats thus far www.lmulions.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2009-2010/teamcume.htmlWe are doing better that our opponents in every category besides free throw percentage and made free throws. Some stats that stick out at me: GOOD * We are averaging 9 steals per game(6.4 last year) * We are averaging 4.3 blocks per game(1.8 last year) *We are shooting .489 from the field(.351 last year) *We are shooting .467 from 3(.282 last year) *35.7 rebounds per game(32.1 last year) *14.7 assists per game(9.9 last year) BAD *14 turnovers a game(14.7 last year) * Free throw percentage is .680(.688 last year) Obviously we have only played three games this year, but still A LOT to be excited about. Go Lions

I like the scoring average of 77.3, and three guys averaging in double figures. We can put some points on the board this year. Once Coach Good gets that defense running on all cylinders - those points are going to be even more fun!
Also - 44 assists on 89 baskets? That's a much improved stat, which will go higher as the players get more used to each other. This is a very exciting place to be right now!
GO LIONS!

While there is no excuse for free throws the turnovers I can live with, we are playing at a faster pace and not trying to grind out possesions, along with the increase in offensive rebouding, steals and blocks we are gaining possesions. So we are playing more possesions in a game which if you take the rate of the game the 14 we are averaging is probably more like 10 in the system from last year. And 10 is a good number. Hopefully we can get it to 10 but right now we have an assit to turnover ratio of about 1 to 1 which ain't too shabby

Thanks lamb - interesting posting. I am happy with the team's play but you flag some areas for improvement. In particular, Davis is 33% from the free throw line and DuBois 37%. I have to think this is rust because these guys are too good for those stats. Improvement here in last weekend's tournament might have produced a 3-0 record. Larry's clunkers off the front of the iron on a couple of FTs cannot be the real Larry. He is a workhorse to have come back and play after his injury and I am glad (as are all other LMU fans) to see him in action. And what about the 5 or so travels they called on Larry - I did not see several of them myself. But again I say this is not the real Larry. I am not criticizing the players- we had a great run and established ourselves on the Div I map. Go Lions! Lions devour Anteaters!
