Oh, I love the enthusiasm. I won't let go of that NCAA dream until someone rips it from my heart. We're going to the show come hell or high water.
Bring em on!

Maybe this will also bring a little excitement to the loft, which was usually dead when I tried to stop in with friends.

Random question...
Why doesnt the Athletic Dept. or the University in general reach out to the local Westchester and Playa communities more to try to draw the residents to the athletic events? It is a cheap outing for families, and there are tons of kids in the immediate area who I dont think would care if its a Lions game or a Lakers game. (plus its a way to try to fill up a few more seats)

I think because the tailgating was more for students and the lack of attendance at games last year. Plus...I am not so sure that these families want their children surround by drunk students!

I think you'll see more of a push to get the community out when we start winning. It is a tough sell (outside us diehards) to get people to spend $20-50 depending on how many kids etc to see your hometown team get blownout.
Once the team is more consistent there will be greater acceptance by the area. Next season I'd expect to see more advertising etc as well.

I think lmu08 was talking about having them come to the games - not to the tail gate event. We might attract them with reduced price or comp tickets to get some community interest in LMU. We have a lot of talent coming out of high school in this area. Or are there concerns about NCAA recruiting rules - I know some of these would not be imagined by a typical fans but any apparent "generous" contact with recruits or their families could be a violation.
