The Lion ruggers knocked off Long Beach State away this past weekend 24-6. Another big win for the Lions.
Next up Saturday March 13, at 1 pm at Sullivan Field, the Lions host Pepperdine. Come support the Lions, the price is right and you get to watch the Waves get crushed!
It probably doesn't count for the PCH cup, but it should.

53-0! Lions thrashed Peppers today on Sullivan Field. Are you sure we don't get bonus points for the PCH Cup?

Lions advance vs USD. Final tommorrow at 1 pm, Sullivan Field.
The Toreros scored a try at the end of the first half to take a slim 8-7 lead into the break.
The Lions lost Miles in a collision in the first half when he came up from fullback and filled in with the backs as the Lions were driving to the goal line. He clashed heads with the defender and came away the worst of the two. It looked at least like a broken nose if not worse. Miles didn't return for the remainder of the day. I would say he's doubtful for tommorrow.
The Lions came out fired up for the second half and scored several tries after breaking through the Torero line and were up by 21 with about 10 minutes to play.
San Diego scored once and then again after 40 minutes had passed when the outcome was not in doubt.
Lions will face winner of Claremont/UC Irvine. Go Lions!

The Lions lost yesterday to a Claremont team that was playing very well. The Lions came out on the very short end of the stick something like 43-5. Quite a different result from the earlier 15-13 loss for the Lions in the regular season meeting with Claremont.
The Lions seemingly left everything on the field Saturday with their win over USD. Three Lion starters were injured Saturday and didn't play Sunday. The Lions didn't seem as deep as Claremont and after they quickly scored three times to open the game the Lions were never able to gain or sustain much momentum.
I'm sure next year the returning Lions will remember this battle and be prepared to avenge this loss.
