Thought the ladies deserved a little recognition heading into their conference tournament. The lions have compiled a 24-4 record this season. 10-1 at home. No matter how you cut it... that is impressive!

Congratulations to the ladies. We dined with them at the season opening athletic event last fall at Gersten, where they handed out academic honors, and they are all intelligent and dedicated to their sport. I have seen a few of them hobbling into soccer games in the fall with ice packs on their legs, arms, shoulders, etc, from the play of the game - it is not a gentle game. Well done lady Lions and Best Wishes in the conference tournament!

The ladies just took the conference title. They are now the "winningest program in LMU history." Whatever that means. (Most individual win? Most Conference Titles?)
Congrats to them!

From this morning's Daily Breeze: "The eighth-ranked Loyola Marymount women's water polo team won its second straight and eighth Western Water Polo Association Championship in 10 years, defeating UC San Diego, 14-10, in the title game at Hillman Aquatics Center Sunday afternoon. Mary Ann Campos led the Lions' attack with a season-best five goals, helping the Lions establish a 7-3 lead at halftime. Kimberly Benedetti added two goals, giving her 10 in the tournament. Anne Scott had two goals. The Lions finished the tournament with 41 goals in three games, setting the all-time school record. The 24 goals scored between UCSD and LMU set the all-time WWPA record for goals in a title game. The Lions earn the WWPA's automatic bid to NCAA Tournament hosted by San Diego State at Aztec Aquaplex, May 14-16, 2010." www.dailybreeze.com/sports/ci_15005376Good luck in the NCAAs!

5-4 (there are conflicting reports of the score). A big accomplishment for the lions. Congrats to them.
:DUCLA had been the reigning national champion, it was UCLA's 100th championship.
