First time in school history a program has won 4 straight conference titles. The men's team defeated UC Davis today and will advance to the NCAA Final Four. Best of luck lions!

I wish I knew ANYTHING about water polo. I'd join the bandwagon.
Oh well, I can still be a fan, and wish them well going forward. Good Luck Lions!

Irish -this is a tougher game than one can imagine. The players mostly kick their opponents in the shins and any other body part that will suffer. I never saw a game - and you probably would not see where the real action occurs (underwater) , but I do see the players showing up as spectators for soccer and basketballl games with multiple ice packs strapped to their bodies. Plus they practive dailey for two hours in season or not and handle the academics in the process. Go Lions!

The games are short, about an hour because the physical demands of swimming and battling in the pool are taxing. It is not a sport for the faint of heart as lions alludes to!

Great to see.
It is wonder for LMU to have a marquee team that is always among the Nation's best with no signs of stopping anytime soon.
I can't wait until we pull the big upset end up with a National Championship.
Go Lions

We still need to get to the championship game unfortunately but in recent years we have come heartbreakingly close a few times! But it there were ever a sport for LMU to get the national championship this is it. Hopefully we can work towards using the same template of success the men have with other sports ie. +Top facility in conference +Top coaches in conference +Top players in conference +Impressive legacy, NCAA berths, titles, etc

Lions lose by ONE yet again.
We we were leading 6-4 in the third quarter, but ended up not scoring anymore and fell 7-6 to the top ranked team in the country.
Look at this stat.
"It is the third straight one-goal setback in the national semifinals, and fourth in the last five trips for the Lions, falling by a goal in overtime to UCLA (9-8) a year ago, to host Stanford (6-5) in 2008 and to Stanford (7-6) in 2006."
Gotta keep hope alive. Lions Water Polo is a GREAT program and you have to believe one of these years we will win that National Championship.

I've watched a few of those heartbreaking Final Four trips! We are very very close, I agree lambda. Really going to miss those seniors this year. Will be a challenge to reload the talent of Andy Stevens our current goalie, and maybe the best in the country.
Now we face St. Francis for 3rd place! Go lions!
