Great hard fought win!
I was able to listen to it all the way over here from London!
Glad to see these guys get some momentum. First 4-0 start to conference in school history!
Go Lions

Nice win for the Lions. Up 3-0 in first half and had Portland on their heels. Second half lost some intensity and got a little sloopy until it was 3-2.

I went to the game and really enjoyed it. We toyed with him in the first scoring 3 lovely goals. With the big lead we seemed to lose some urgency and they made it interesting. Portland goalie was put to work, he had to lovely saves against some laser shots.

Another great game. However, I feel we were a bit lucky that Portland did not find their stride until the second half. In any case, while LMU did play a great overall game, especially the first half, Portland did seem out of sync for the first 45 minutes. Maybe it was our great offense dominating the 1st half, the long bus ride or whatever but when Portland got in gear in the second half, it was a real game with LMU pulling off several key saves late in the game. We did have some nice shots on goal late also which did not convert. In any case, it was more interesting than I would have preferred! Go Lions!

It got scary for us watching. But I think the boys had it under control. After the second Pilot goal the Lions started to control the ball out of the back and move forward under control rather than just blasting it out of danger and back to Portland.
I agree with Iron Lion, we dominated the first half. I looked at the cumulative stats, we have 10 first half goals to our opponents 2, and 7 second half goals to our opponents 10.
We showed our tendency to back off once we have a lead and try to protect it. I haven't seen anyone match our intensity from the start.
