Portland women visit UCLA this weekend for a trip to the final four at the college cup. Seems like the match should have been in Oregon this time but once again the Pilots didn't get one of the number one seeds. At 5:30 Saturday I'll be cheering for the WCC.
On the men's side Portland is the only one of four WCC teams left. At the beginning of the tournament, the Pilots looked as if they had the toughest route. Winning two away matches against New Mexico and N C State shows their meddle traveling across the country twice.
On Sunday the UCLA men face the Gauchos in Westwood. Who do Lion fans root for? Pilots! I can't remember right now who Portland faces next but whoever it is, I hope Portland wins. If the Pilots keep winning maybe they'll face the Westwood winner down the line.

The soccer season has abruptly ended for the WCC. The Portland women lost their bid to the final four in Westwood 2-1 and the Pilot men lost 1-0 at Virginia on Sunday. The Portland men previously lost in preseason 3-0 to the Cavaliers. Locally UCLA advances to the final eight after defeating the Gauchos 1-0 in Westwood. UCLA is the only team remaining carrying the banner for west coast mens soccer. They'll need to defeat Wake Forest for a trip to the semi-finals.
