College soccer news has their poll out. They show us as #30, ranking us for the first time. No one else from the WCC shows up. They drop Dartmouth from 9 to 15 and Michigan State from 15 to 18. CSUN popped up into their poll too from not rated to 24. UCSB is still 14 or 15.

In the coaches poll we still are among the missing. Interesting though is that UCSB is back up to #7. Almost like they have decided that the game against the Lions never happened. Top Drawer's poll attempts to predict the 48 team tournament field. We show up in the high twenties. USD is the only other mens side representing the WCC. Polls are nice but we need to stay focused on Riverside and Bakersfield this week.
On the Women's side Portland only dropped to #4 after losing to then #17 Texas A&M. I thought they would have dropped much further. Santa Clara jumped up to #9 and San Diego is hanging around at #24. Top Drawer projects these three WCC teams making the tournament right now. To get there ourselves we need a strong showing this week to be in position to climb over the Peppers, San Diego, and Santa Clara in conference.

Well maybe UCSB has a good team but their number 7 rank has to go away now that they gave up four goals to San Diego State losing 4-2. We have beaten them both 2-1. The coaches who blindly vote UCSB into the top ten have to pay attention don't they? Or at least ingore their coach and his pr machine.
