LMU Women face off with Long Beach Women today. The women should be fired up going into todays game at home. Long Beach is ranked ahead of LMU in soccer ratings.com, 37 to 56. A result today would go a long way to moving our rpi up to the area we need for an at large bid before the conference campaign begins.
Portland 3, Santa Clara 12, San Diego 25, and the Peppers 45 are all WCC foes ranked ahead of us by Soccer Ratings .com. We can make a statement today with a win against the 49ers. Go LIONS!

News just in from Sullivan Field.... Lions 1, 49ers 0. Nice game and another nice win by the Lions. LMU scored early in the first half on a free kick from just outside the penalty area in front of the goal. The Lion defense took over from there and frustrated the 49ers for the next eighty minutes. The 49ers brought their keeper up for an extra man in the last minute but the Lion defense cleared one shot off the line and headed another over the net to end the threat. A result Sunday should move us up nicely. Go LIONS!

Sunday's result is in and its positive 3-0 LMU over Bakersfield. The Lady Lions scored three in the first half and backed off the pressure from then on. Is this the same Bakersfield team that defeated #25 San Diego on 8-23? The Lions played with confidence and looked sharp the entire game. Coach got to rest a lot of starters after the 3-0 start and a number of reserves played significant minutes. Things look like they are really coming together for the Lions. One more game with Arizona away on 10-2 and then the battle begins in conference. The Peppers beat Utah today 1-0, a team we tied, and Santa Clara beat Fullerton 1-0.
