Tara easily made it through to the finals and will also try to advance in the 5K this weekend. Sheree Shea just missed qualifying in the 10K by a place posting her personal best time.
Tara has the best time in the country this year in the 10K! The finals will be a great race and it will be great watching her compete for the national championship!
The Lion website said she would be trying for LMU's first national championship. Not quite true and a short memory by those writing. It may relieve a little pressure on Tara, but she probably knows anyway, that others have been there before for LMU. Bob Boyd won the hundred yard dash in 1950 and Therese Kozlowski won the individual cross country title in 1981. The 81 and 89 crews also won national titles in fours as did our football team in the 70s. There may be others and I certainly hope Tara is the next.
Tara has a great chance and I'll be rooting for her all the way to the finish! Go Lions!

Tara runs tomorrow night at 6:45. You can grab the feed off the LMU athletic track site. They also have a great video interview on her running for LMU.
I'm fired up and will be watching, cheering Tara on! How often does this happen for LMU fans when we can watch one of ours compete for the NCAA championship? Join me it should be fun! Go LIONS!

No championship tonight and I'm sure Tara is disappointed with her performance. Timed at 35:53, it was well off her best performance. The pace appeared to be rather slow for the first mile or two before it started to pick up. But the leaders went 17:43 for 5k and the winner ran the second in about 16:42 running away with a 67 final 400. The heat 84 and humidity looked to seriously affect at least a couple of runners two of whom collapsed.

Much better race by Tara. The weather was a lot cooler with the rain bringing the temp down. Tara was up front and leading toward the half way point, trying to keep the pace legit but it was too much for her to keep it going. The commercial break and then a screen freeze on the feed disrupted the race coverage as usual for a distance race. The front runners ran away at the end and finished around 15:37. Tara was in the top ten last time I saw her. I didn't see her time but it probably was close to a PR. A great effort by Tara, and it was great watching her run for LMU in the championships. One more cross country season for her in the fall?

Thanks Tara! Congrats on making it to the finals in two races. A great thing by itself. It was great watching and cheering for you. A championship just wasn't in the cards this time. Keep on running.

Tara runs tonight! At about 7:45. One place you can watch is at runners space . com. She is in the 10K final. The field tonight in the USA Track and Field Championships is tougher than at the NCAA but the conditions will be more favorable. I think Tara will have a good race and a fast time.

Tara will be in the finals again! This time the D-1 cross country finals. She captured the WCC crown again and finished third in the regionals. Off to Indiana for one more 6K!
