Yikes my rep is on the line. I have seen him play about 8 or 9 times. I'm excited to see him in a LMU uniform.

... And further supporting Ironlion's assertion that Kyron can be impact player next year is that this lastest game was against one of the best teams in the state.

During the broadcast of the St. Mary's game, the announcers both said that Abetemarco was very high on Cartwright and that they see him stepping in to Ireland's role. Not that he will become Ireland, per se, but that he can run the point.

Kyron is great player but he will have to adjust to the D1 game like everyone else. From what I have seen, I love his ability to push the ball and find his team mates. He is a very good floor general in the making. For college ball he will need to continue to add strength and work on his ball handling skills - this includes his ability to drive in both directions. He also has a tendency to play a bit out of control at times which will need to be refined.
It would be hard for anyone to come in to fill Anthony's role, but Kyron has the tools to do just fine.

This was posted a couple of hours ago as a recap to the Fairfax state preview this last weekend....
Biggest steal
Kyron Cartwright (Compton, Calif./Compton) 2014, PG, 5-11, 155 Status: Signed with Loyola Marymount
Cartwright has the length, burst, and ball skills to be an instant impact recruit for Loyola Marymount. He can knock in the 3-point shot or convert buckets in the mid-range area through contact. He needs to learn how to change speeds and not force the issue so much, but he's a talent.

Great Expectations being generated here - thanks for the updates. And I like that he is taller than AI!

Wish the best for the kid but if he is AI redux that puts him at all-time status. He hasn't step foot on a college court and I think he may be more Corey Counts than Jimmy Williamson. If he develops early and shows he is big-time god bless him, but maybe he turns out more Cobi McElroy than any other.
Will be fun to see the new coach looking at these fresh recruits.

Kyron Cartwright making a official visit to Providence this weekend. I hope he enjoys the weather (40-50 degrees all weekend with 70-90% chance of rain).

Playing in the Big East might be a bigger draw than the weather.

Any idea if Kyron or Elijah might reconsider or are they totally writing off LMU?

Kyron asked for his release right away so I think he is done. Dunlap had about a month to convince Elijah to stay and it didn't seem to work. Godfrey was most likely going to prep school so he isn't coming.
I'm guessing Jackie Davis will be the first Dunlap recruit. But I haven't really heard anything recently on him nor Devin Watson.
