The Pilots have two big guards at 6’5” and 6’4” and a strong presence inside with van der Mars and Nicholas, both with enough meat to hold their own under the net.
Their record includes losses to some very good teams and their play has picked up as they progress into WCC play with good wins over Pacific and Gonzaga, both at home. Their three WCC losses were also on their home court so they will have a rougher time ahead with most conference games on the road starting with Thursday’s match vs the Lions.
Their win over the Zags was big and they handled Pacific, which (from what I have seen) is a very athletic team, not unlike the Lions.
I included minutes per game (MPG) for each player to get a feel for their depth – basically a nine man rotation with the starters getting the bulk of the play.
If we are favored Thursday, it will only be due to our home court advantgage.
