He isnt the only one....
But our staff has replacements ready to fill in. Should hear news soon. Not sure if we have any scholarships still left.

I think the Stover decision was a CD.

I'll wait to see the replacements but as mentioned above stover was finally coming into his own. He was our best defender so that leaves Ayodeji as our only solid perimeter defender at the moment.
It's part of the turnover process that we'll have to live with. I'm trusting dunlap but really want to see what he has lined up.

Thanks Lionsroar. If Stover's departure was a CD, it is interesting to see that Dunlap has higher expectations for the players on the squad than he felt Stover could deliver (I hope I'm not reading too much into this). I have a guess which player is the other shoe about to drop regarding departures. Fryer - you weren't kidding about those 5 scholarships available, were you? It's exciting to think we have 5 replacement in the wings to be announced soon, presumably of higher caliber than Nick. Personally, I thought Nick was developing into an exciting player but the coaches must have reviewed lots of game films to reach their decision.

Not all CD's about a player leaving are talent related

Thanks for the clarification - I was jumping to conclusions (or speculating).

Too bad. Not only was Stover improving as a player, I also enjoyed the interviews he would conduct on the website, and he came across very well on BYUtv when he was interviewed after the Lions' WCC tourney victory over Portland.
If this is true, I wish him well.

I'm disappointed about Stover leaving. I really thought he was going to be a breakout player this year under the guidance of Coach Dunlap.
Unfortunately, Good's reputation has a talent-killer, or maybe his uninspiring offense, or his poor relationships with star players (all unless he's Anthony Ireland) basically has given us a not-so great reputation as a program.
This hurts in the short term, but I'm hoping Dunlap's obsession with winning will attract player who are also committed to winning and getting better and most of all, allowing themselves to be disciplined.
Regarding next year, it might be a bit rough since we'll relay heavily on Payne and Levin for a lot of things. Of course, if Egbeyemi ( solid veteran with the potential to get hot offensively and play solid D) Blackwell (solid body, nice outside shot) and Siame (if he shows up, huge wild card) play big roles next season, the team can be alright 1-5. I just worry about our depth. Over the past 5-6 years there have been a lot of nagging injuries that we've been unable to get over.
I hope that Dunlap can develop our bench so that guys like Flint, Mornar and Okonji can be good role players, filling in for specific functions and duties on the court.

Thanks Fryer - nice hint. I'm inferring that we may be getting some international players - most likely from Europe because Australians (more or less) and Canadians talk like us. C'mon Dunlap, don't keep us is such suspense for so long!
