I expect them to be very competitive with three players averaging double digits, led by 6’7” F Taylor Johns 23.0 ppg and 6’3” guard Jaylen Bland 18.0 pg. I look for Dunlap to start our larger guards/wings with Brown to defend against Bland. Johnson will have to handle Johns inside with help from Spiers and Jacko. It should be an up tempo game from both teams, a fun one to watch. Gametime: Sunday, December 6, 3 pm at Gersten. They moved to 5-2 last night with a win over northern Colorado. Johns killed us last year on the boards (we won 66-62), also want to note that he has only played in two games, their first and the one last night. So they have played well without their best player, they are a solid team I this is a game we SHOULD win.

Vegas rates the game a "pick'em" Lions need to play well tomorrow to win

First half of play was quite a game - Riverside clinging to a one point lead. The Highlanders shot lights out in the first half and I don't think they can continue. Tutu playing well as are all the Lions. I didn't expect Tutu's game to mature so fast. He is a real asset already. And Mornar came in the game and gave the Luins areal boost when they needed it. Too bad one team has to lose. Go Lions!

Spiers, humpheries, and tusche were all non factors, thankfully tutu and mornar played really well off the bench. I thought that with jacko Taylor johns wouldn't be so dominate, but he's relentless on the boards. For a couple minutes we had brown, tutu, and McClendon all in the game which was fun to watch, but McClendon isn't quite D1 ready on offense, love what he does on defense though. Johnson has quietly played well these last couple games too.
The dumb fouls have almost stopped, the transition defense has been a lot better, ball movement on offense has looked better as well. I think the next area for improvement for this team are all the things that come from just playing together more, still liking our chances to be a top 5 team in WCC.

A very good win for the Lions as Riverside is a good team who shoot well. Tutu stood out in my mind - he found his outside shot and made some very good assists off drives into the lane. He is a true freshman and played a top game yesterday. Mornar made his presence known in a big way - his play will force Dunlap to give him more minutes if he keeps it up. Dunlap goes with the hot hand and is quick to substitute looking for the right players that day.
I'm optimistic for the Lions' season - they'll do OK in the WCC this year.
