The Lions travel south to take on 1-8 (WCC) Toreros this weekend. USD is coming off a 10 point loss to Pepperdine and is mired in last place, while the Lions are tied with Portland just above with 3-7 records.
USD will be looking desperately for another win.
Let's hope the Lions can rebound from their disastrous visit to Provo.
Gametime: Saturday, Jan 30, 1 pm at Jenny Craig Pavillion. TV: TWCSN, TheW.tv

I believe this one falls into the "Must Win" category.

Vegas consensus is a "pick 'em" game.
Go Lions!

Lions' fans should find that disheartening.

I don't know; even sounds about right. USD shed the "Great" Bill Grier and their new coach, Lamont Smith is young but is already "well traveled". I recall him as a solid defensive player under Brad Holland in the late 1900's. Last week my initial impression was that he was getting as much as he could from a team without allot of talent. We clearly are superior talent wise so our "Great" coach versus their new coach match up may tip the scales to the Lions. Frankly I like out chances, GO LIONS!!

Nine minutes into the game and we've already given up 5 3-pointers.

Jacko is in and we go on a run, he gets subbed out and they go on a run, repeat.

they're not going to go 7-14 in the second half from 3
I think we're fine...too much herman and humphries, humphries had a nice run for a couple games when no one knew who he was, now they know he only will shoot 3's and well that unfortunately is about all he can do on offense, his defense is decent though, but still... would rather have more Mornar, Tuach, and Spiers. I mean really there should never be a time when Herman is on the court and Mornar is not, Mornar is way better

why can't USD go 7-14 from the 3-point line in the second half? If you allow open 3s, opponents will hit them.

We should have put them away by now, I don't like how they keep hanging around, humpheries is having a good half.

Spiers is a catch and shoot guy, automatic when he's open but really can't do much else. Jacko really needs to learn to box out and put a body on guys and not just rely on out jumping everyone. And as the announcers have mentioned, he really doesn't slide his feet all that well, especially considering his athleticism.

Bad but predictable ending, good for USD for making shots and free throws. Don't know what it was but I never felt like we were going to win, we had a 20% higher FG percentage and were only up 4. At this point in the season I'd like to see Tutu and McClendon get more minutes, and Tuach should have played more today. Haney has lost it mentally, but at the same time it's not like anyone on the bench is outplaying him.
