www.lvrj.com/sports/40770427.htmlEldorado guard Clark gets offer from Loyola By TRISTAN AIRD LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL Eldorado guard Mitrell Clark entered his senior season on the radar of some college coaches. But his stock has gone up after being named co-Most Valuable Player in the Northeast League, scoring 51 points in a Sunrise Region semifinal and carrying the Sundevils to the Class 4A state tournament.
The 5-foot-10-inch Clark recently received an offer from Loyola Marymount, and Central Michigan has expressed interest.
"I'm just hoping to be successful," said Clark, whom LMU is recruiting as a shooting guard. "Anything is possible, but a four-year Division I college is what I'm striving for right now."
Though he has yet to commit to Loyola Marymount, Clark said he "will be ready to sign" with the Lions after taking the SAT on March 14. He has passed the ACT.
The regular signing period for basketball runs from April 15 to May 20.

Seen this kid play, he reminds me a little bit of Keydren Clark who played at St. Peter's or maybe Wink Adams at UNLV.
Good scorer, little bit slight of size. Can fill up the bucket.

I'm not sure why Mitrell and Ty are being recruited, though both seems to be good players. I think the top targets are and should be Osborn and Lawson. Our back court looks pretty lovely with Dubois, Davis, Teel and Kalpindie.
Go Lions.

You can never have enough scorers. If he really does compare top Clark or Wink Adams, I say we get him. Mitrell and get Lawson and I will be very happy

Get the guards and Lawson this year, next year focus the whole recruiting class on all Big men. LMU needs more depth inside.

He seems undersized.

5'11 sg is undersized, but there have been many that have succeeded. If I wasnt so focused on this midterm paper right now, i could think of a few names. P.S. I just ran into and talked to Eric Gordon in LMu's library. Pretty sick

One of the best players LMU has in the last few years was Haywood Eddy at 5'4

Mitrell is not on the scouts radar screen (ESPN). But neither were two of SCU's all freshman team players - rated 40. We could use scoring from outside (or inside). 51 points in a recent game - sounds great to me! Do we have room on the squad for all the recruits? another visit to the dumping issue.

1) Haywood Eady was AWESOME to watch. Especially when he jumped on top of the media table after the '99 home victory over Pepperdine. And (as I have mentioned before) it was fun to see him paired up with the (skinny) Kenyan giant Sylvester Kainga. The two of them standing together looked like this: l;
2) I know the talent at the high school level varies wildly, but scoring 51 points in any league (even if it's the YMCA over 40 league) is an impressive feat.

Mitrell sounds like a good player but our focus should still be getting Lawson and Osborne.

I don't disagree but are we going go dump some current players? We have only 13 scholarships and Clark with be the 13th. I have the feeling coach Good doesn't like Teel and his reckless playing style. His poor shooting from the field and free throw line didn't help the team much last night but we do need his aggressive style on both ends. Who is leaving to make room for Lawson and Osborne?

With Vinson going else where we have one scholarship which Lawson will get. I have a gut feeling Sutton will not be with the Lions next year. He has been on the roster three years and has only been healthy for one. Over the summer I saw no particular effort to work hard and improve out of him. Per Waterboy Mitrell and Nurse are just back ups in case someone leaves. I don't really see anyone leaving.
Go Lions

OK - no problem - but the news article said LMU offered Clark a scholarship? This would be the Vinson one unless it's conditional.
