I would like to see what each of you thinks the starting lineup and rotation will be for the opening game of next year. When I think about position by position, it seems to me like LMU will be two solid deep at each position.
Starting Lineup:
PG: Dubois/ Teel/ Davis Sg: Davis (if healthy)/ Teel/ Kalipinde SF: Viney/ Armstead/ Lawson PF: Young/Diedrichs/Hamilton/ Osborn/Sweezy C: Garibay/ Diedrichs/Hamilton/ Osborn
I believe that covers everyone. LMU will have a deep squad full of talented athletic players at each position. Do people believe any of the freshman will challenge any of the returners for significant playing time? Thinks are definitely looking up for the program. The more I envision next years team, as well as the state of the WCC for next year, I believe LMU will finish at worst 4th in league.
Man the depth is amazing. Ashley Hamilton who showed great promise early on in the year is going to be like third on the depth chart at his position. WOW. If these players really put in the time and effort to be a legitimate program, they most certainly have the talent to do so. Work them Coach Good. Make it happen fella's

Its going to be nice to have a full healthy roster (almost). I think the starting line up will be:
PG: Dubois SG: Teel SF: Viney PF: Hamilton C: Garibay
Notes for each position:
PG: Dubois will take up a majority of minutes. Depending on how Teel plays he could also carry some PG responsibilities.
SG: Teel will be the starter until Davis is complete better, but don't be surprised if Kalipinde get minutes if Teel plays out of control or doesn't play good D
SF: Viney will be one of top offensive weapons. He can shoot from outside and can use his strength and quickness to drive to the basket. I see Lawson getting more PT then Armstead. Unless, Armstead has big summer in the weight room it might be a good idea to red shirt him.
PF: Will be a toss between Young and Hamilton. I hope Young hits the weights hard this summer. We never got to see Hamilton play last year...he is strong, quick and athletic and has a better outside shot that Young.
C: Garibay provides the size we haven't had. He is still a bit skinny but he should be playing a lot of minutes as a freshman. Depending on the other teams center, I see Diedrich coming in for more offense. Osborne is more of a center and I seeing him getting more time as a 5. Though he is only 6-7 he has a big wing span and seems to play well down low. He did just fine against UCLA commit Anthony Stover who is 6-10.

If Kalipinde is as good as advertised, he supplants Teel and is your early season starter at 2 until Davis is healthy and in shape. Teel doesn't shoot well enough from the outside and his ball handling is poor. Also, unless Kevin Young fills out, he'll get some time at 3 too while Garibay, Diederichs and Osborne are at 4 and 5 against teams with a bigger inside presence.

Here is my take. Starting Lineup:
PG: Dubois/ Teel/ Davis Sg: Davis (if healthy)/ Teel/ Kalipinde SF: Viney/ Lawson/Armstead PF: Young/Hamilton/ Osborne/Sweezy C: Garibay/ Diedrichs/Osborne
PG - DuBois has earned his spot and plays the team ball he learned at Westchester. Teel is agressive which is valuable when needed but we have to keep control of the ball - not his strength. SG - toss up here - Let's hope Davis is back. I haven't seen him play but his maturity is needed with our yound team. Kalipinde is an outstanding athlete and don't be surprised if he is starting early into the season. Lawson may play a role here also if not at SF. SF - Viney (again - limited knowledge) looks like a natural - good jumper which is key. Armstead is reliable and needs more strength - he has trouble against bigger defensive players under the basket and is starting to develop his mid range jumper. Lawson has a great opportunity to show his skills as "Kevin Young junior" here and may compete for starter by seasons end. PG - Young with his leaping ability and wingspan is the lead. Needs more bulk. Hamilton can take over starting role if his play is reliable - i.e., team oriented, and his short range jumper and inside game is competitive with the other big guys. His prospects are good. I don't see Diedrichs here but who knows? Center - Garibay (based on reports, again haven't seen him play). Diederich is more than reliable backup here with proven ability to score inside. MIA - Sweezy, Sutton, plus practice players. I like Sweezy's agressiveness and defense - no offense however. Sutton is an unknown. Osborne - we don't have him yet but if we do, I may have to rethink my analysis.
