Gonzaga signed this 6'10 inch "small" forward from Canada - Zags are full of surprises to keep an NCAA playoff team! Kelly Olynyk | SF Hometown Kamloops, B.C., CAN High School South Kamloops High School Height 6'10" Weight 215 lbs. ESPN scouts rating 40 ember of National Elite Development Academy in Canada as well as Canadian Jr. national team which played in the FIBA Americas U18 tournament in 2008...Averaged 35.0 ppg and 13.0 rpg as a senior... looks like a dangerous add to the roster from the Lions perspective.

Crazy thing is, he will probably redshirt next year.
Harris, Kong, Arop, Vilarino and Dower are all better prospects at this time.

Harris and Kong don't show up yet on ESPN - the others do. Are these two in the fold?

The Zags will have a lot of talent coming in...but they are still freshman. Also there is a difference between Canadian High school basketball and the WCC. Like all international players we have to wait and see about Arop, Kong, Olynyk and Harris. I would have been more worried if they were landing top talent from the US like in years past.

Here is news regarding a player from Sudan that appears ready to play at Miss. St. next year. Riek's particulars are a case all their own but the fact that he may play in NCAA might be an indication that the Bol Kong visa will eventually work out, unless there is another dimension to the Kong story. Riek was already playing in the US this year.
John Riek set for Miss. St.
Sudanese center John Riek has committed to Mississippi State and is expected to have his letter of intent approved on Tuesday or Wednesday, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports. Riek, who was originally a member of the Class of 2008 and signed with Cincinnati last August but was not cleared by the NCAA for enrollment.
Before signing with the Bearcats, Riek declared for the NBA draft but did not hire an agent. Sources say he may have to re-pay some benefits he received when he declared for the draft which clouds his eligibility for next season.
