Back in the day, I know practiced always began on October 15. Has that changed? If not, how are we looking so far? Are Given and Larry practicing? Is everyone else healthy?
Thanks in advance from someone who is desperate for info and can't wait for the season to begin!

Are practices open to the public or closed? Can fans look in? Does someone know? Or is it just find an open door?

Find a open door. You can watch from the upper deck.

Thanks ironlions - is there a best time to check in? Afternoon, early evening? I need to see some of these new kids in action, including our two star transfers, as I have never seen them play. And to see if Hamilton has actually grown an inch or two over the summer!

Looked in on practice today - lots of players out there! Tried to identify all the new guys, these are clear - #3 Kalipinde, #20 - Lawson, #15 - Osborne, and #12 (or #21) - Garibay. Recognized the new kid from Chicago - he is a good ball handler and had lots of action in the scrimmage situations. However, there is a #23 whom I don't know. ???Another fan there did not know all the players but said we have a walk on from Westchester - is there any truth to this? And is he #23 - a tall kid (est. 6'6") with a goatee and some real game. Injuries - Davis was dressed and did not get into the full practice but was shooting on a side net. Garibay I hear has a bruised heel and also was shooting on the sideline - he has a decent jumper - nothing like Derics though (thank goodness!) And I thought I saw Daniel Latimer in the mix although he is not on this year's roster. Reilly had a boot on and was not dressed. Strangely, not one anglo-saxon word was heard from the upper decks!

Also, in some one-on-ones, Hamilton had a devil of a time getting a shot off against Kevin Young under the net. Great defence by Kevin!

And (just remembering these things) Kalipinde has some muscles enabling him to finish under the basket - his height and weight look like DuBois but he has a stronger frame in addition to his quickness.

Had a friend that told me that Schea Cotton (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1005434/index.htm) was at practice today.
I didn't know his story until now. He was supposed to be one of the all-time greats.
Also told me that a scout from the Pistons was at the practice. Apparently he was stopping by UCLA, USC and LMU practices today.

In the practices I saw Larry was fully involved in all the drills. He still isn't 100% but was participating. I'm concerned that he was just shooting around when you saw him wrschnicke, I hope he hasn't' taken a step back in his rehab. I hope Edgar's injury doesn't keep him out the the Crimson-Navy scrimmage.
I also so this 6-6 walk-on. He is really impressive. Better game than some of our scholarship players that Tention had.

Shea Cotton was at practice and Coach Good stopped the session near the end to introduce him to the team on the court. Shea said a few words at Coach Good's prodding (which I could not hear) and then practice resumed. I took it as a motivational tool at the time and now I see why. Thanks Lamb as I would not have known the full name without your posting. There was a mature young man who dropped in to practice about 4:30 and sat in the bleachers to take in the action - he might have been the scout? Now - to solve this #23 mystery!?
