Coach T was already experimenting different lineups in the 2nd half so expect a change very soon.
I don't think anyone took it to heart when we shot poorly during the scrimmage against nevada...everyone just assumed the problem will mend itself. Of course, it doesn't.

I know its going to be a very long season, and some nights everything is going to go wrong. Right from the get go, during warm ups, I saw no energy on our team. The UALR players came out hype where as the Lions looked like they were headed to take a Physics mid term on a Saturday morning.
I know we are only two games into this season but things need to change ASAP.
Go Lions!

The coaches need to build a sense of urgency and excitement asap. This is something that I've noticed hurt us last season during the "decline" but the season is still young and we can definitely salvage it!

Well, well, well....I don't know where to begin on this (a similar feeling I think our Lions experienced last night at tip-off). Last night after the game I was devasted that we were CRUSHED by a team that is not all that impressive. I believe they had 20+ turnovers and still beat the pants off us.
I must agree with everyone stating that JZ and Deric should start. I called that one months ago. Although I would love to see the freshmen eat up the minutes to gain utmost and invaluable experience, we cannot get laughed off the floor like last night. That was completely embarrassing.
Glad to see Dead3man speaking his mind. Agree with him. Also, I agree that Shawn is probably the best we have to handle the ball at the point. Turner and Counts last night got eaten alive with the trap. I question how we could have multiple 10 second violations. All the scouting reports had UALR utilizing the press extensively. Did the Rodney not run the drills with the players? Or were the players just not listening during practice? It seemed as if we had a "deer in the headlights" look about us when they pressed.
Also agree with Dead3man about our team just casting up shots. We look like we were just shooting around on at the park. I did not pick up any real set plays. It looks as if there are SO MANY DAMN rotations that Rodney is trying throughout the game that there are mini scrimmages occurring in the game. No one can hit their stride that way. It seems as if players are getting 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there and trying (pressing hard) deparately to make something happen to have the coach extend their time in the game by 30 seconds. I don't get it. I feel the Fans are simply watching practice when seeing the lions play.
Now the fans last night DID NOT SHOW UP for the opener. It was absolutely pathetic. The fans that did show up were getting so furious and sarcastic about our performance. Last night was a complete embarrassment for LMU Basketball.
I thought Rodney would get a "bye" year because of the young team. Frankly what I saw last night was high school basketball. There were so many BIG and Little things that went wrong. I watched when our players came out of the game and there was NO COACH in their face or at their ears to tell them where they are going wrong and how to adjust. Our coaches need to develop these young talented players to be able to COMPETE at the D1 level. I felt the coaches gave up about 10 minutes into the game (not to mention our players). This is the first time I would have to question the desire of the coaching bench. I could not believe what I saw last night. COMPLETE EMBARASSMENT.
I am a die hard LIONS fan, but I can understand the frustration of the paying fans atleast (enduring a 25% increase in ticket prices this year) and to see that display last night was ridiculous. Rodney should have reimbursed the fans on last night's performance. It was brutal.
Some of this board are calling for heads to roll if these types of losses keep mounting. I am NOT on board with this talk so soon in the season. Remember two years ago we started out 2-13 and then ended up in the WCC Championship game. We many be able to get out of this funk and this is the type of game that should drill a message home. 21% shooting is horrible. And just think, UALR was not an overpowering team. They did not even have a big front court presence. I believe in Rodney and will give him a pass last night. However, two or three more of these dismal performances ("deer in the headlight" looks from players) I may just be rethinking the one year "bye" because we are a young team. We need to be able to compete and not lose by 20+ consistently this year.
Oh, by the way, the benches were cleared last evening for garbage time (some would consider garbage time was after 10 minutes into the 1st half) in the 2nd half. It seemed as if all played EXCEPT for Mas Maynard. What is going on there? Anyone has information about this, it would be much appreciated.
