PLEAE START JZ! I think there is no excuse for Coach T not starting his lone senior. I mean really, it seams like it is obvious that this team needs some senior leadership. It needs a lot of work, but we need experience on the court. Why aren't Marko and JZ seeing 30+ mins per game.

I am going to go as far as to calling Quentin Turner to take a seat. Sorry but the starting spot has to be earned not given.
Start JZ in the shooting, put deadwiler in the point, and see how it goes. It can't be much worse than it is now.

I am going to go as far as to calling Quentin Turner to take a seat. Sorry but the starting spot has to be earned not given. Start JZ in the shooting, put deadwiler in the point, and see how it goes. It can't be much worse than it is now. Okay, I'm probably going to be in trouble for this post but it is what it is. Funny I was looking at the game on video stream tonight and I agree some changes needs to happen. I just don't see the cohesiveness thus far with the first group at all. Deadwiler was not all there tonight, he didn't take shots because he's been out all weekend sick as a dog and his energy level was next to zero. I heard the guest commentator say Deadwiler looks lost but in all he wasn't even aware of his game shape for this game (you don't go from shooting 5-10 to taking only 1 shot if something isn't wrong). I don't think any position should be given but we need to make a committment to what is the group and I would like to Deadwiler at PG and I beleive he needs to play PG at least for now. The turnovers are just too dang high but I don't know if they go down with making that change either. Players have to run the offense and not just throw bombs up from all over whenever, we need to get into the paint thus getting to the foul line until those outside shots start going down. We have to move the ball faster on the outside and also develop an inside out game. The bigs can't just get the ball inside and not kick it back out they will get it back. This sets up good outside shots and good inside back playing to the basket play. I also think with this group we need to run not walk the ball up the court thus not allowing our competition get into it sets. We are just too fast and too athletic not to run at a fast pace my 2Cents only but I'm not the coaches and I have to defer to their master plan. As a fan thats what I see but as a parent I would like to see Deadwiler play what I feel is his natural position the PG. He has to drop dimes, get to the rack and make it easier for his teammates to get off and I know he can get that done with the ball in his hand. Whatever they do I will be there to support but I have some concerns now and I have had it forever but bit my tongue with respect to what I've been asked. Enough said.

AMEN This is getting out of hand. To get drilled by Sunbelt teams and anteaters is too much. JZ is playin and Marko can get it started. We need more than a "spark off the bench" we need a defibrillator to kick off the first half. Honestly, who had the better talent? There are 2 Ole Miss transfers and a kid that signed with Co State plus several local kids that had "better offers" and stayed in Little Rock. UALR's coach was coach of the year in the SunBelt a couple of years ago. He can coach. Last year we beat Minnesota, we almost beat Mich St the year before and we beat SIU out of The Valley by like 20 the season before that. LMU will play better as the year goes on. It is really hard for a bunch of freshmen to play at the d1 level due to the speed of the game. Tough loss. Good luck the rest of the way.

I have no doubt that UALR was better than us, there guys were more mature physically and our utter lack of experience is really tough to overcome. I just hot Coach T makes some changes. I think our freshman would really learn if they had some experience to help them out on the floor. It is rediculous to think that that starting 5 can get it done for us right now. They need to learn the ropes of D1 with our guys helping them along.

formerd1, I hope UALR does very well this season (for both our sakes). I did not expect this young team to be 2-0 at this point but I do expect competitive games. We have not had one yet this season even with DH. Major changes need to be made. There is no excuse for a 40-70 scoreboard at home.
I agree our upperclassmen need to get out there. The incoming class has talent but it is too much to expect them to learn the D1 game in 2 weeks. It is clearly overwhelming them and we cannot get into a funk that lasts the entire season and kills any interest in the program this season.
